A big test, lets see how they can bounce back from disappointment.

Annis, the problem i see with BBM is the size of the squad he has available, it has be one of the smallest in the division and we have a full 3 months to go with injuries/suspensions before any replacements can be added. This is all down to dictator Tan with his massive cut backs and refusal to allow a manager a budget, that is why many managers turned the job down. BBM is doing a decent job under the circumstances with so many youngsters who are learning on the job. We are a 4-8th place team at the moment but with money to spend we could walk this league.

That's exactly how I see it and have done since the start of the season. People have turned a blind eye to this after the good start we have but its getting to that time where reality is goin to hit us.

I have to disagree about the size of the squad. BBM said he doesn't want a large squad and though I am not sure if we have the best first 11 we have probably the strongest second 11 in the League. Osho, Chambers, Robinson, Joe Colwill, Kapakio, - all internationals- Robertson, Kellyman and Davies were all missing from the starting line up last night and this enables BBM to rest players who have a slight niggle (as with Osho and Davies last night). Don't think any side in the league could lose the centre back pairing of Osho and Chambers that we had on Saturday and bring in another like Lawlor and Fish. Could do with another striker though.

There is not a manager/coach on the planet that does not want a big squad. BBM had to say that because these were part of the restrictions the dictator put in place for him to get the job, what else could he say. ??

There's nothing wrong with the size of the squad. It's what the manager wanted and the manager is doing a great job.

Some are just jumping on that because it's what they said in the summer and want to be right.

Others just want to be negative despite us being 4th, three points off top.

Bad result last night, but the hysteria from some is unjustified.

It's not what the manager wanted it's what he was told to work with. So going by your theory, we'll jump past the January window because BBM is happy with the size of the squad.??

It's not what he was told to work with. It's what he wanted.

And I'll educate you why.

If you have a big squad then the young players we've seen this season would find it much more difficult to get opportunities. Those players have flourished for us this season.

It also leads to negative harmony in the squad because too many players aren't playing regularly. That damages performances.

We all want Tan out but you are using that to cloud your judgement.

It was the manager who demanded a small squad. It was the manager who only wanted to bring three players in. The board gave him many lists of names of who he could sign but he said no for these reasons.

And he was right.

The manager wanted the list of names changed not the size of the squad. Now i'll educate you on something, if this squad stays the size it is, it will be totally burnt out by the end of January and we'll finish mid table.

Yes I agree Paul,

If we fail Top 2 I will be blaming Tan for not funding a bigger squad and letting some good reality older players join.

Instead Tan is trying to get promotion on peanuts spent and very very low wages.

Ned,

I do not believe Barry-Murphy would not of welcomed a few more quality players.

He can not speak out against his Boss.

He’s agreed to do this job on peanuts otherwise he would not of had the job.

Then 100% if We gain Automatic promotion which we should then Barry-Murphy Deserves all the applause, if he fails then he will be a Total Failure and all down to him and him only.

Categorically untrue.

At his very first press conference he said he wanted quality, not quantity and that's what he brought in.

He did not want a big squad. That's a fact.

This squad is big enough and good enough to get promoted.

If anyone thinks that the manager wouldn't have welcomed in more quality signings they are deluded.

Of course, he's going to put a positive spin on things for the fans, players and his boss, that’s called being a good manger.

Why wouldn't BBM of wanted players that could have improved the team ! Clearly, we didn't have the budget for the type of player that would have improved us, so he just kept it has it is.

The argument above about a smaller team being a happy team etc is stupid. If we had an unlimited budget, your telling me BBM wouldn’t have like to have signed Halland because he wanted to keep it to low numbers

Calling people stupid and deluded isn't fair, just for putting an argument across.

There are limits on squad sizes anyway for teams in League One. Those rules don't exist in the Championship.

At the risk of being called stupid or deluded, he did want a small squad.

Like I said, the good young players we have wouldn't have the opportunity they have had with loads of signings.

It's a fact that he turned down signings. Plenty of reputable press reports about that.

He could have had 8 new players if he wanted, but he didn't. And he was right.

Not crying about anything, just saying that it's harsh to call people stupid and deluded.

He was always happy with the squad size for the reasons I've given.

The point about the squad size rules stands.

I also stand by my opinion that last night had nothing to do with squad size. It was about missed chances. We have good enough forwards for this league and they should have done better.

But the hysteria about squad size and style is completely unwarranted.

This will be forgotten if we win on Saturday.

Under BBM these "good young players" were always going to get a chance because that's in his make up, that's who he is, difference is because of the size of the squad they are all playing all of the time because it's all we've got.

Us losing yesterday was nothing to do with squad size, I’m just saying that if he was offered a player that would be better than what we have, he would have taken it.

He said many of times, he only wants players that will improve the team, and clearly the 3 players we had was all Tan was willing to spend. I remember an interview where he said 2 or 3 more maybe, then we only had one. So clearly, he was hoping for more.

We lost because our players didn't take the chances they should have, the ref was useless, and we didn't change the approach when it wasn't working. I'm sure he will fix the faults ready for the next game.

With you to a certain extent on that, but it doesn't detract from the fact that- bearing in mind we are now in League 1-we have good cover in almost every position except left back. There wont be many sides in the division with a bench like ours

I hope the fans give the team time Saturday and don’t moan at one pass backwards. At times it’s almost like we don’t want to progress our way of playing. Comfortable with hoofball and zero success.

Yeh being in 4th place really puts him on borrowed time.
IMO that’s the daftest post of the day, and it beats off some serious competition too.

I think you'll find that was a bit tongue in cheek comment.

Yeah I assumed that too.
