Has BBM been sold a dud?

Wed Aug 13, 2025 9:39 pm

BBM has received praise so far from various managers and opposition and so far so good in terms of results.

His interview after the Swindon game raises concerns. He clearly has no idea who is going to go next Daland, Horvath or Alnwick. He phrase of 'I dont know' when it comes to players in and/or out has become far more frequent.

His little chuckles when asked about players tells a story of 'who knows'?

He finished the interview against Swindon talking about new players and if you listen he ends up saying with a desperare laugh 'I dont know who I will get in'

Its only my opinion but has there already been broken promises from the junta at the top?

If the three go who he suggested, thatll be 17 out and 1 (goalkeeper) in.

Am sure he wasnt told that at interview. To me? He's already looking and sounding frustrated with the board.....and with good reason.

Personally, I hope he does well of course. But if he continues to get zero backing or token minimalistic backing just to say 'weve signed someone'then I believe he will walk.

Ian Holloway was full of praise for him against Swindon. Pity the Junta have forgotten who he is already

Jonny things run a familiar pattern when they turn up to manage cardiff how many mangers under tan 15 is it? Bulut was the last to say the exact same thing "i don' t know" he got the boot gor shite performances but also in my head it was because he called Tan out for saying one thing then doing another as he has always done ,
We have a owner with money but is a complete loon and jekyll and Hyde in character but we are stooping to new How's this season in transfers ownership lack of statements ambition.
Is it any wonder some of us fans are worried but been labelled negative ffs.

Always said I'll judge it at the end of the window.

I just don't think he likes talking about transfers. Since the beginning, he's avoided it if possible. That's the case whether it's ins or outs.

He also said he doesn't want to say something is close and then it doesn't happen within a few days, because he did that with Trott and it took longer than expected.

He said he's confident of new signings before the window closes, but doesn't know when.

I think that's all there is to it personally.

Any fan of any Club who have seen 14 or more players leave and just 1 in ( Goalkeeper ) - would be asking questions .
Especially as the manager has said the owner wants us up on his 1st attempt :o
Yes I know there are 2 weeks to go but new players coming in need time to get to know each other .

I don't know anyone who is "pro Tan." I think the overwhelming majority would like to see him gone. I don't understand the constant regurgitation of the 14 that will be 17 soon, players gone, and only one in a soundbite that is constantly on here.

Except for O'Dowda (who was injured throughout the 23/24 season) those who left either didn't want to be here or were so injury-prone no one else would take a chance on them.

WE CAME LAST for the first time in our history with a spineless group, led by a southern league-level manager.

All i can see is a manager who realizes it was the senior pros at the club who let us down, looking if we can move them out, then we can find replacements, it can't be the other way around or we end up with the massive, useless squad of the last few seasons.

We are far lower down the food tree than a few of you believe. We could get five or zero in on transfer deadline day, but there is a long way to go.

I think BBM plays dumb because that's his style, but I believe he is running the football side nowadays, not the transfer committee, so if a keeper who believes the ball is made of kryptonite, or one that never makes a save, or a big centre half that gets bullied off the ball leave, so be it.

BBM was more than clear weeks ago he wanted quality above quantity.

He had players lined up.

He’s not one to shy away from the cameras m.

He even told us he need up to 4 quality players.

He’s gone very very quiet due to not getting what he wanted.

NO Money.

100% aggree annis, where are these Quality signings he said he had lined up I'm all for bringing in young players but where is the experience we need for this league we need a CH as chambers is definitely not a CH we also need a leader in the team a player in the mould of Sean Morrison I don't think we have one ??

You make a lot of good points but i do believe there's a bit of mistrust already creeping in between Murphy and Tan. I find it difficult to believe that Murphy wouldn't want players bedded in by now, it looks to me that we'll be bringing in what's left of the carcuss after other clubs above us have stripped it. At most we'll bring in maybe 3 youngsters, god knows what we'll do when the inevitable injuries kick in??

They may have been shite as you put it or injury prone that is not the issue,it's the in balance and fans been told to wait till the end of the window and then possibly nothing, what then ? go with what we got is not a push for promotion this is the fear some of us have others same every year will go quite if nothing materializes.

Russell Slade 2?

Tan the destroyer

We were all buzzing in hope of a sale.

Now the tension of Tan is kicking in
Is this yet another ruined opportunity???

Agree with this.

Think we should wait till the end of the window before judging.

We've had a hell of a lot of overpaid, sub-standard, injury prone players that needed to be shipped out.

The proof in the pudding will be if he's allowed to bring players in once they've gone though.
