Two more players set to leave:

Tue Aug 12, 2025 10:21 pm

Ethan Horvath and Jak Alnwick, who were notable absentees from the squad.

BBM:

“I don't know if they're close to leaving. I don't think it's right for me to say,it’s not down to me.”

I like Jake, he ho.

Re: Two more players set to leave:

I said last week that 2 more would go - Did not expect that the 2 would be keepers - thought 1 was enough .
Which means now make the above 2 + Darland and another ?? So we could be looking at 4 and still just 1 player in :o
Added to the 14 ?? already gone - I'm starting to lose count :?

Re: Two more players set to leave:

I'm a bit surprised we're not keeping one of them, but Horvath I expect to leave when Trott came in.

He wants to be in the USA squad for the World Cup and he won't be if he's not playing.

Agree thought we would keep 1 and Horvath would have been the 1 to go for the reasons you have given Ned .

At this rate we will be calling the U12s up

Re: Two more players set to leave:

At this rate, the squad could end up paper thin.
Okay, maybe offload Horvath, but surely not Daland as well.
With talks of 2 young inexperienced loan signings coming in, I'm not sure we have enough make a serious challenge this season.
It's only a matter of time before injuries will test out this squad.

We don't need 4x first team goalkeepers!

New signing plus Turner is fine. Get rid of Alnwick & Horvarth. 3rd choice is youth or emergency loan, as per the rest of the footballing world.

Both haven't filled me with confidence at all, albeit behind one of the most leakiest defences in recent years. Both could benefit with new clubs.

This is sensible business.

Dead wood.

Re: Two more players set to leave:

Not sure what people expect after a relegation season? It needed a huge clear out. Good. Neither keeper deserved any plaudits last year. Alnwick comes across with a decent attitude and don't mind him staying. Daland has never really settled. Reminds me a bit of Glatzel. There is a player there but perhaps not suited for the English game.

I find it so odd that there's not a single name that Cardiff are rumoured to be interested in. Clubs are regularly linked with players online, whether accurately or not - but there seems to be absolute radio silence about who those "Quality" players might be. I don't post "ITK" statements but I've asked around with different club staff who confirmed my fears that they don't believe there's any signings imminent - I don't want to give too much weight to these links, they're not coaching staff or board members, so hopefully something is brewing behind the scenes that we haven't hear about. Just doesn't look good at the moment.

Ian,

And Glen Williams on Dalmans behalf will say ex Spurs or Man City players, yet never ever got near the first team.

I got told Tan / Dalman Blocked over a week ago two new players coming in as we would be paying their wages.

BBM is struggling to find players for virtually nothings, thanks to the Hierarchy.

Are they dileberatly running us into the ground,? i just don' t get it, i though promotion was an ambition at the very least but with 17 out 1 in hardly a recipe for success. I think dalhman has his motives and tan is just dumb.

Probably incorrect but it sounds like VT is asset stripping. So much for the pleading, faux apologetic bollox in that AI generated statement they eventually issued following relegation.

#Tan out!

Re: Two more players set to leave:

There has got to be more to this. If Tan had not ever really invested heavily in us, you could understand the asset stripping (nothing ventured, nothing gained). But he's 200+ million down. 17 out and 1 in after relegation plus blocking signings is just weird, even by Tan's standards. What are those pair hiding.

He doesn’t rate them. Turner looked like an improvement, and he rates Trott even higher, so why keep two experienced, expensive keepers who took us down and looked poor all season?

He’s not a fan of Darland either, so he’s gone. I can see more than four more players coming in; he’s just waiting for the right ones. Like with Trott, he wants signings who can walk straight into the first team. I’m glad we’re not just grabbing a centre-half for the sake of it; we’re looking for the right fit for BBM’s system.

Let’s judge it when the window closes. We haven’t lost a game yet with the youth team, so things aren’t as bad as they might seem.

Thats what we have fans representatives for who are not getting any answers ?

Fair comment but I'm concerned.

We'll see what transpires. Think we'll struggle for anything resembling a promotion push without the acquisition of a couple of competent, battle hardened, lower league professionals. Chambers is not the answer and it should be BBM who picks the Captain and not the players.

Re: Two more players set to leave:

Alongside the need for quality, is the need for cover. With Bagan as a lone LB in the current squad, poor cover in the wing areas and the obvious frustrations at CB. It doesn't look like we're capable of bringing quality in across all of those areas.

Cover provides some level of safety blanket for the current starters if they get leggy late into matches, or can't handle the schedule.

At the start of the window I wouldn't have taken this, but now i'd be looking at the Matt Ritchie and Joe Bennet types. Players that aren't expecting to start, but are absolutely as solid as a rock replacements to bring on late into matches to give tired legs a rest.

I mean not saying you are wrong, but if its the same players that I was told about it was 3, and it was more a case of they got offered "Top end championship/lower end prem wages" and we couldn't even compete.

close to announce one or two by the way.

There lies the problem if we pick up injuries - we have at least 2 out now .
