Chambers on becoming captain:

‘It’s a nice feeling that the players think that way of you. It’s a new challenge and role for me. I’ve not had it before. I feel I’m at a time in my career which is a good time for it. It’s like a new challenge for me. I’m looking forward to it.’

Hope he steps up and grabs it with both hands.

This side needs some leaders. And savvy on the pitch.

Not a centre half for.me but one of our experienced players but hopefully he will play better than I've seen him playing centre half because I believe it's where bbm sees him only time will tell

I like Chambers.

Played at the highest level (Champions League and Premier League) so could have a massive ego.

Could have demanded a transfer after relegation but has decided to stay and was an obvious pick for captain.

Have been critical of his performances at times but he's someone who does care and will always give his all.

I think at this level he will have a lot to offer, be that in defence or midfield.

His experience is needed as a centre back at present.
Wintle or Turnbull should be more than capable of midfield holding position.
But I think we need a leader and experienced player amongst the young defenders and currently this has to be Chambers.
