We are pleased to confirm that winger Ollie Tanner has put pen to paper on a new deal in the Welsh capital.
Tanner has signed new four-year terms with the Bluebirds, which will keep him at the Club until the summer of 2029.
The 23-year-old joined City back in May 2022 from Lewes and has since become a key part of the squad here in South Wales.
The winger played the full 90 minutes in our opening day victory over Peterborough United, and, wearing the number 11 shirt, will look to build on that positive performance in our next league clash against Port Vale on Thursday night.
Upon signing his new deal, Ollie said: “I love being at the Club. I’ve had a good few years here and I was really excited when the opportunity arose to stay and sign a new contract. I’m looking forward to the next four years.
“For me, it’s been unbelievable so far this season. The manager and his staff have been brilliant, and my commitment shows that I want to be a part of it. Everyone has bought into the style of football, and I’m excited for what’s to come this season.
“We’ve had multiple conversations and he’s made it clear what my role is in the squad. One of the biggest things is that it is so clear what you need to do. Everyone understands that, and we’re all going for the same goal.
“The fans were able to see on Saturday in the way that we played and pressed, that’s what we want to do throughout the season. To get the win at home in front of the fans to start the new campaign, it was brilliant.”

Very hit and miss for me. Hopefully a run in the side and Ollie will become more consistent.

Big fan of this, played so well on Sat and we missed him last season when injured.
He’s actually now got a record of being a big game player for us too.

The lad is a very decent player always looks like he wants the ball ,loves to run at pace ,has a great physical presence. You could play him in a few positions from wing back to midfield ,even as a centre forward or false 9.

Good news, absolutely loves the club. Needs to stay injury-free and get a goal in the next game or two - then I think we'll see 10+ goals and goodness knows how many assists

A bit like with Rubin, Tanner is one of those players who did get their chances in the Championship but will be a much bigger part of the team in this league.
I thought he did well on Saturday.
Good cross for Salech, assist for Kpakio's goal and had a shot well saved by their goalkeeper.

Yes I’m another who’s happy with this.
I also like his work rate which will be a given with BBM - and rightly so.

Fully agree, Paul. I’ve like Tanner from the start, and now he has a coach who can play to his undoubted strengths, I feel he will be an important part of the team; particularly when playing with Rubin Colwill
