RB is the next place to strengthen and maybe left back, and if im being greedy a winger. I'd rather wait for BBM to identify the right targets first rather than make sure we've got people in for the first game. The window is open for another month yet, and majority of big clubs haven't even identified who's available for loan.

I'd say the opposite we won't walk this league or anywhere near walking it unless we invest in the squad and fast but let's hope your right :bluescarf:

I agree that we won't walk the league, don't think any team will. Unlike you I do think we'll be top six at least though.

Ned if you think this squad is good enough to go up even with a few untested not really known onloan yougsters then let's hope your right because that's about as good as it's going to get in signings really in my opinion :bluescarf:

I can't personally see what team will give us a decent game in this league, our squad is still championship level and with a decent manager finally (from the looks of it) they'll only get better. Yes we'll have our off days as all teams do, but I'm quietly confident we'll break 100 points this season, with or without new signings. Ever the optimist, as you can see!

Our squad proved they were not championship level last season That is why we are in this division. What we have is players who have played in the championship that is all as a squad

I think underestimating teams in league one is a big mistake BTW most less exciting week I've ever known considering transfers I've ever witnessed supporting cardiff city

I will have whatever drink you're having!

I think the best we can achieve this season with our current squad is a push for the playoffs.

We have a terrible defence who will keep conceding goals, but hopefully we improve attacking under our new manager and we can outscore teams.

Still no signings, despite the very misleading headline to this thread. Etete has just been loaned out, so we have actually lost another player before tomorrow.

The bizarre thing is certain people are optimistic and happy, thinking our pathetic bottom of the Championship squad who lacked spirit, fight, guts, battling, experience and leadership last season, can magically turn their attitudes and performances around this season!

I'm fearing a big reality check tomorrow, but I hope I'm proved very wrong.

I completely understand people who are fearing the worst. But we should never have been relegated last season with the squad we had, just poorly managed in my eyes. Yes the players have to take accountability too, but it's now a new season with a new manager who seems like he knows what he's doing.
The worst part of our game was goalkeeper and defence, we will be playing against less potent attacks this season and Lawlor will make a huge difference I think, and hopefully the new keeper is decent. Going forward I think we'll be superb with the midfield and strikers we have for this level. So that's where my optimism comes from, I just don't see many teams being able to cope with our attacking players and the high intensity press. I may have to eat my own words tomorrow but I'm feeling a 4-0 statement win.

Still we remain the only club in this League and maybe - All 4 Divisions without a player to come into the 1st squad :o

I'm starting to think Worcester may have been right when he said that BBM insists on only signing players who fit his style of play and offer good value for money.
That could explain why he started Turner in goal last Saturday — perhaps as a message to Tan, highlighting that we already have young talent at the club who are just as good, if not better, than the players being pushed by the head of recruitment or the transfer committee. Given the limited transfer budget this year, it may be BBM's way of saying we should trust what's already here.

One of the main reasons our young players are lagging slightly in their development is that they were all but ignored last season in favour of some frankly poor-quality loan signings. That decision set back their progress and kept them from reaching their full potential.

I could be wrong about the thinking behind the goalkeeper situation — but my view on how our youth system has been handled remains the same.
