Sale alternative view!

Most on here agree tan is asking to much for cub as its in div 1?

Well after watching game yesterday if I was potential buyers I would be seriously thinking of giving tan his reported 80m he's owed and dalmans 40m why?

City got a bunch of very talented youngsters that could very well do a Bournemouth and Ipswich and go straight up twice the similarities are very close! Plus Sunderland went up on peanuts but very talented youngsters....and value of players will increase.

if development is like yesterday's performances... call it speculation to accumulation paying 120m now could pay dividends by end of season and tbh I feel tan/dalman believe team can go all way in two seasons I certainly do... we all know tan is crap at running club but not crap at making money he's very good at seeing opportunities as his franchises showed in Malaysia...city believe it or not getting relegated as turned city into a first class opportunity for him to recoup his investment in getting promotion with a squad worth more than any squad as under tan... what would you do pay £130m now with great chance promotion or potentially £180m in championship with no garauntee of promotion?
Tan is gambling on promotion why not investors?

Me or Tan? :P OK tan doesn't sell we go up what is certain squad value increases being in championship increases value ...Watford for sale £170m City more latent value than them so my point is why not speculate now ? Tan can see the possibilities of value of club rising more now than previously. ..like I said alternative view!
Why is club more valuable in championship? Because it can reach Premier league.... this team I believe can do back to back promotion tan dalman see this aswell.

They don't want to meet Tan's valuation; they are looking to try and buy for a lot less, thinking that Tan is weak and needs to sell. The statement explains Tan does not wish to discount the price and is looking to try and go up and recoup more money.

I don't think anything will happen if we are flying and the young players' values are rising, Tan will want to hang on even longer. So the better we do, the longer he stays, so a tricky situation for a fan.

That's my point if font fo ot now come end season I believe we'll be promoted and we'll placed to challenge for pro again given youngsters got a year of div1 this is what happened at Sunderland took them a season to gel and then got promoted with youngsters. Blooded in championship.. pay 130m now or face 170m+ next season ... they say don't sell at bottom but he will if give him what he wants.... but by same token you cannot buy cheap if owner won't entertain you because he wants his investment back... May be more ghan supposed div1 club is worth but we are big fish in little pond and worth more than average div 1 club? Football is not average buisness and cannot be treated as such ..... if want club give man what he wants ...yes a risk but I feel its a better risk than hoping club doesn't get promoted

I think Allan makes a fair point.

But it's a gamble for Tan because if we don't go up, the value of the club as it is now will fall.

Very much risk and reward for him.

Ned people are on misconception that because we are div 1 club we are cheaper than championship? what div 1 club have our facilities academy training (eventually) house sports plus stadium? All are part of sale in some capacity..... no wonder tan wont sell for 50m or so! Besides I bet this side can emulate Ipswich and Bournemouth almost identical scenarios....I believe tan thinks this also plus bet have 60m in talent come end season so I believe consortium needs to take same risk as tan is by offering the £130m it may take to convince tan to sell otherwise it probably be £170m+ next season if people think that's to much watford on sale for £170m Wrexham worth more several worth £150m or more ...... my fear is knowing tans outlook on getting promotion we won't get rid of him for at keast 2 years certainly not while got chance of premier league from championship

If Tan was losing 3m a month in the championship. He will be losing more in league 1. So if he doesn’t sell, I think it pretty much confirms that it’s complete and utter lies about losing money every month. No sane man, let alone a business man would refuse to sell if he was losing that amount of money a month. There’s just no way.

CLub loses money every season like 99.8,% of clubs...... that loss is subsidised by tan especially as this season income drops 10m from efl money but we got rid 12 players none in so far the saves lot money ... tan can sell anytime he likes at a price he thinks he can get as he's put in 80m that's what he wants or near enough... he obviously can sustain the input of money otherwise he would have sold several seasons! ago he simply wants his invest back and appears to be able to wait for it

If you go by that then VT will continue to pump money in this season and the price of the club will go up regardless of what league we are in because he wants everything he’s put in back. I think it’s rubbish that he’s losing as much as he says he is. Tan can’t sell anytime he likes because you have to have someone willing to pay what he wants for a start.

Well he can sell anytime he likes if he's willing to accept what's been offered!
But my point in this thread is if consortium serious about buying club why not pay what tan wants? Because if not going to pay it now they are not going it pay an inflated price if promoted! ... tan is taking a risk not accepting offer so why not them taking risk buying now?

Well the club is overpriced and I think Vincent Tan has more to lose. That’s probably why these investors are not giving Tan what he wants. Like you said, Tan is playing a risky game not selling. I think he would be incredibly silly not to sell at this point.

What people arnt getting tan doesn't need to sell , he's quite happy chucking his money in each year , he's committed to giving away his fortune not sure he will sell unless it's a good offer .

He was losing that amount a few years ago but in recent accounts isn't it about 1m a month ?

Nobody is willing to throw away their fortune Wez. You don’t become a billionaire by doing that. There’s a catch somewhere or some sort of loophole. There must be.

One problem is his ego he wants another promotion on his cv he's said this previously.... I know its only one game bit I honestly see us going up and give it 3mnths city near or top will only stiffen tans resolve to stay until he dies probably! Consortium won't get a look in the championship unless make tan a massive offer he can't refuse! But as they wont pay enough now to tempt him certainly not going to pay a lot more in championship? Over valued or not
