Sean Morrison - An excellent watch and very insightful

Firstly, I believe SM is currently working within our academy, which if true is a fantastic move by the club.

It's quite a long interview, but it really sheds light on how we've ended up as a League One side. One thing that stood out to me was the complete lack of a clear plan or direction over the years.

A good example of that was during the COVID period, when we had to rely on our younger players due to squad cutbacks. That gave the likes of RC, ID, and JB the chance to break through and they all had fantastic seasons under MM. But instead of building on that momentum, we handed that responsibility to arguably the worst possible manager in Steve Morison to nurture those young talents.

He also goes into detail about the Bournemouth away game, where SM tore into IS despite him working hard and giving everything just because he was an easy target. That kind of mismanagement speaks volumes.

It’s no wonder our young players have struggled for consistency when we’ve continually let them down with poor managerial appointments. In my opinion we're very lucky to still have them at the club.

On a positive note, for the first time it feels like with the BBM appointment, we've hired a manager who actually fits the club’s direction, someone who can coach, nurture, and develop our talent properly. It also seems with the likes of YS, AR, WF signings are recruitment is also in line with the clubs direction.

I think as well as the taker over possibility it's actually this coming together of a plan that also excites me about the season ahead.

I'm no Steve Morrison fan, but when did tearing into a player become a negative trait?

What if the player needed it?

Games gone...

Watch the interview....the whole point is ID was one of the better players on the day but an easy target. He then also got further criticism in SM post match comments which was undeserved.

All players are open to criticism and our young players are entering a tough environment which is extremely competitive. Point is the best coaches/managers know how to develop and nurture that talent.

Time after time we appointed managers who's skill set were totally opposite to what the club needed.

Its an excellent watch and very insightful. The point about Steve Morison was that he was arrogant and poor at man management. Sean describes him as 'weird' and not respectful to be people, even the tea lady. He also talks about how Morison talked to him and Aidan Flint, telling them they were not fit enough to play Saturday/Tuesday. Utter nonsense! There is a place for a being hard on people in football as well as putting an arm round them. You get more out of people generally in life though by looking after them and being respectful to them and clearly Morison was very poor at that.
