Well it's still your club so you can do what the hell you like until you've accepted an offer & it's contingent on you not selling any of the assets.

You suspect that is what as been put in place? I'm sure they will be aware of the value of players ..and you simply don't sell several million ££££s worth of assets .. by same token can understand why tan hasn't spent anything when he's selling club.... must be in advance stage to have these things in place

I was just answering the question from "the claw" but hopefully they are at the stage where nothing moves. But he can still do what he wants while it's his club if he really wants to be as much of a cnut that he's been the last few years.

I've called tan an idiot but not sure he's idiotic enough to risk selling the club by selling assets that would upset potential buyers.. but I fo think its at stage where nothing is moving..... but if deal is done they can invest in club while waiting clearance from EFL so allowing players to be bought been done previously ...

I don't believe for a second that any club have offered that

Ned, I’ve done some digging and whilst Andrew’s ‘source’ is credible, it appears you are right; although ‘a Championship club’ appear to have enquired

As ever, posters can only put out what they hear and I know Andrew well enough to appreciate his ‘good faith:ayatollah:

Cardiff City:.Yousef Salech's current market value is estimated at €3.50 million, according to Transfermarkt. This valuation was last updated on May 27, 2025. He is currently playing as an attacker for Cardiff City.

Not even Tan is stupid enough to turn down £9 million for a league 1 player valued at £3.5m

I've just had info from within the club. Nothing too new but thought you'd like a read.
Salech is the strongest player that's ever been at the club over many many years.
The club have turned down a bid of nearly £9m for him.
Rangers are still 'sniffing around' Colwill.
There's definately something 'very big' going on behind the scenes at the cub atm but everyone is being told that it's 'hush hush'

Like i said, nothing major but I thought it was interesting :bluescarf:

Lol the title. Making us think it’s the takeover bid. lol.
Nice it got me I was like f*cking he’ll noooooo. lol.

So your saying we have accepted it or not responded to it? :bluebird:

Or it never happened?

I'm going for it never actually happened & no bid of that amount has ever been received from Sheff Utd.

It 100% Never happened.

Cheers for clarifying :bluebird:

How do we know the deal to buy actually doesn't involve player sales which means tan bought him he can sell whoever he wants

We don’t; but would you want a say, if you were paying an already OTT price and the outgoing owner tried to maximise his return at your expense?

I know I would. It’s good business practice to buy an asset lock stock and barrel

We don't, people are either speculating or ITK so who knows. Nothing is for certain so far that we know of.

I'm a "wait for club to announce anything" kind of guy.

I agree on that, when it happens it happens, if it doesn't it doesn't, my initial feeling of we are going up is starting to waver though and our first game will be so crucial to see how we will fair.

Not sure where people get this tan can sell who he likes position? You don't pull rug from underneath the buyer by selling millions £££££s of assets! I wouldn't proceed with a sale and it's not even about dropping price to compensate its about having best chance to get promoted and that wont happen if sell best players .....and it will most certainly abort the sale of club.

I don't understand why you think he couldn't if he wanted to unless he's agreed not to with prospective buyers. He can sell and/or buy whoever he wants until such a time as he has agreed anything with any prospective buyers. Nothing to do with promotion either.

Nobody has said he would or should but the point is "he could", I'm not sure why you think he couldn't. Millions of assets doesn't mean a thing if he wanted to & was willing to accept a lower offer or just didn't want to sell & that's a fact as people like to say.

There is nothing stopping him besides common sense & he hasn't shown a lot of that.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if there is a takeover imminent for a club do they not go under a transfer embargo or am I dreaming that? Is it more when the fit and proper tests happen to ensure that finances are available to protect clubs and players?

If this is the case could this also attribute to the quietness of the window so far? Although I imagine that would have to be made public knowledge so we would know for sure

Nice update

I predicted Colwill to Rangers the second Martin got the job, he's been a big fan for years and it's a realistic match and the right size step up, but I hope we stick firm with Colwill and Salech, they could both shine this season.

Understand he could sell him if wanted 5o and haven't said otherwise and I have said he's an idiot and does idiotic things.... but ask yourself this? If you put in bid for a car and after you put bid in seller took engine out because it was valuable would you still buy it?
That's the equivalent of selling salech Robinson Colwill after bid been made doesn't make sense him selling players for say 10m but accept lower bid for club to match it? Totally Illogical ....again my point is would you buy club with its best players sold before you take over? Theres absolutely no sense in selling club then asset strip risking the sale! No matter how stupid tan is.

Allan, I'm not disputing any of the reasons why he shouldn't & never have but you were saying that he couldn't & that's where the difference was.

These are your words,

"Not sure where people get this tan can sell who he likes position?" And now you're saying the opposite.

We both agree that he could if he wanted to but would be stupid to do so which has never been in dispute by me, you or anyone else. We all know how stubborn he can be.

Might just be a case of getting our wires crossed and there's no need to fall out over it.

Yes your right crossed wires! Think we missed part of if several bids comes in tan as to have a preferred bidder (efl rule) once that is in place got set time to complete dealI suspect if that's case tan wont be able to sell assets whether its stadium or players ....... got to be honest many deals fall through because seller moves goalposts and tan is prime suspect to do that.! But don't suspect he'll do anything to scupper sale not in his interest to do so.
