Yesterdays meeting in Cardiff.... who did they meet???

Wed Jul 16, 2025 12:19 pm

If interested parties flew in for a meeting, who did they meet?

Tan obviously wasn't there, Dalman? Ken Choo?

Does this show that Tan isn't really taking it seriously if he's not there? I doubt he'd trust Choo to deal with something like this and Dalman probably has conflicting interests.

So did he just ask someone who's seriously looking at buying the club to meet with his lawyers? Hardly sounds like he's taking them seriously.

Would you be happy to part with £80m and not even meet the seller?

Absolutely right. Tan doesn't need to be there and the fact that 'someone' actually came to the stadium for a meeting gives me the impression that we could be close to something happening.

Totally get all that and agree, Tan wouldn't neccesarily want to meet everyone in person who has an interest in buying the club.

Just strikes me as it all being at a very early stage at the moment as I'd imagine he'll almost definitely want to meet them in person to finalise and agree anything.

Visiting ground is always good sign shows intent .... but I'm sure who ever visited is aware of how good ccs is guess it was more of a financial meeting what is not clear is was dalman at ground or did visitors go to him after whatever took place at ccs... if dalman is the last piece of jigsaw can't imagine him blocking anything as it's in his interest to get a deal done and remove tan.

The thing is people are over thinking. You dont travel half way across the world to talk prices etc.

They are at the later stages. This would like be simply to have a look around and finer details.

I think its further along than most believe.

Agree , just a symbolic visit to view what they've bought .

Heard that the South African group being at the stadium yesterday was dismissed as false at a meeting tonight can anyone who was present there confirm if this was the case

Club officials will deny it because it suits them.

Why would they confirm that an group came to the stadium to discuss buying the club when the official line is that Tan has no plans to sell?

So I wouldn't take what club officials say on this as gospel.

They'll stick to their line until something is formally announced.

Well someone big was at ccs as think we've established flight was st Rhoose then went on to Nice no coincidence that dalman is at city and Monaco if someone got a better explanation like to hear it? But asked question other day why is there no reference to sale in any sports media Inc wol? Only reference was from Bale this is behond normal situation ... normally get story that someone wants to take a club over if not giving names what country from is generally used.

Think it is also worth noting that their arrival was on Monday - one of only two days when the Superstore is closed and no supporters around?

Paul have you ever heared of a takeover of a club shrouded in so much secrecy? I certainly haven't and only secrecy is the names really mystified...

It was pretty much the same back at the end of 2009 and the beginning of 2010.

We knew they were Malaysian but that was it for a while. I just dug around in the archives and it was Annis that mentioned Vincent Tan as an educated guess but was obviously spot on.

It's amazing how similar the situation is/was.

There was 30 to 40 mill of debt in a club that was valued at 6mill.

At one point there were even 3 groups looking to buy the Malaysians, an American group and a guy by the name of Ben Steele who was telling everyone a deal had been done. Wonder what happened to him

That's the point we knew something was happening then ! but all we know today is bales consortium put in bid what about the two others? nothing mentioned about them on ssn wol or mickey mouse times! almost as if doesn't exist...... Monday's events are totally bizarre again not mentioned in any outlet yet this forum gleamed something went on at ccs.... why such secrecy doesn't happen elsewhere

Allan, in all seriousness, what do people expect the club (nee Tan) to say publicly until there is something to say either way, if at all? :?

We all have a thirst for knowledge, it’s only natural, but can anyone truly say they would be making public statements when negotiations are ongoing; possibly with multiple parties?

Tiny bits have got out, and we are confident ‘talks’ are happening, so let’s be grateful for that and let negotiations take their course one way or the other! :ayatollah:

Yep we all need to be patient. How does the saying go "no news is good news".

Like other things club do not need to give updates just to appease fans especially something that generally is confidential... my point is the lack of info from the media outlets whilst don't expect details usually you get snippets of where their from and Mondays events should been picked up at least by WOL and bbc Wales sports? I believe the deal is long way down the line and given the Nice story dalman as been involved either negotiation takeover or being involved in deal about his investment .
