To be this upfront about his purchase plans suggest to me that things are nearing completion. Let’s not forget the murmurs of a potential sale have been going on before last season ended.
The lack of updates from the club itself on many things tells you everything you need to know doesn’t it ?
The lack of updates tells us nothing and everything at the same time!
Thus club, under Tan, have always kept their cards to their chest and only said something when it’s worth saying!
It’s the one thing I understand and appreciate from their point of view, so I would suggest that in the absence of a response/denial, ‘
something’ is in the air. Whether that is Bale, the South African, or a USA consortium (with or without Dalman), this is pointing towards some positivity

Agree might be close .

The only person Bale should be talking to about the bid is Tan, I don't buy all this "Local lad" hysteria that's going on. You put in a low bid and try and get people hyped up into believing it's a good bid when it's lower than the others to put pressure on the person selling. Just look at the state of Man United now with a "Local lad" and " Lifelong fan" running things, sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for.

Surely everyone would prefer an American consortium headed by Bale than Tan??

I agree with this ‘local lad’ nonsense. Insulting to the fans to think this is the reason we’d back him. He will be backed because he’s a Welsh football legend and has achieved incredible things for club and country. Never had anything to do with Cardiff City. Lean on your credentials as an accomplished footballer, Gareth and the fact you’ve knowledge of the inner workings of some of the world’s biggest football clubs - and how they’re successfully run! Drop the local lad narrative. Stinks of clumsy American advisers.

Bonner,
You certainly are for Tans Despicable 15 year reign you’ve always gone against anything I’ve said.
Remember Tan has always promised to leave us better and a higher position than when he arrived.
We were in the Play-Off Finals one game from Premier.
We were less than £50 Mill in Debt.
Had a Better Squad / Worth more.
Crowds were Bigger etc
Etc etc
And We had a Proud Badge
My beliefs are my own.. nothing ever to fo with going against you..
I personally think Tan has been quite a good owner.. yes I do agree the rebrand was a mistake .. but after pressure he did concede
He has had his pants pulled down a few times by managers..
Do think it time he sells up, however, as a businessman you will know there are 2 valuations.. what the seller wants and what the buyer wants.
I do believe that the Bale consortium are playing it far too public to have any real chance of it succeeding .

I was told it was £50m.

How do we think the potential deal will go - in relation to the debt owed by Tan:a) £50m purchase for the club & Tan confirms no debt owing to him
b) £50m purchase for the club & shares given to Tan in settlement of his debt - so no debt going forward
c) £50m purchase for the club & the debt to Tan (and others) remains there to be settled over time.
For me, if any purchaser has a £200m slush fund to buy the club and use the balance on investment, I would be hoping that there is no debt going forward so that we can use the balance to "buy" promotion from the Championship to the EFL next season.

We got to get to the championship first, and it will not be this upcoming season we just at this moment in time the squad to get us out of league 1, if we go with what we got in house at the moment I predict a 12th to 18th position finish, more players will be definitely be sold on.

LOL. I know

I agree its no sure thing
The point I was making was that the lest the initial investment in purchasing the club & the less the debt is - then there is money to spend on promotions.
Once we are back in the EPL then we become worth at least £400m

I'd love option B. The new owners can then further invest thereby diminishing Tan's shares. Just what he has done to others in the past.

I believe £50 mill gets you 65%~75% of Tans' shares without debt. He loses control but it's still a chunky interest. It will be interesting whether Dalmans debt is converted to shares.
It's complicated. Say its worth £80~£90 million. We owe Tan £120 mill and Dalman £30mill. Someone is taking a massive haircut if this is to go through.

They must have put the feelers out with Tan and the board, updated the bid to come into the kind of ballpark Tan would look at, hopefully at least, I can see the Bale consortium having one more go if this is rejected, after that though, I doubt it, so interesting to see how it plays out.
