We are league one side now so no decent foreign team will bother playing us. Who we play is largely irrelevant too. Warnock had us down in Cornwall playing Cornish part time sides and then we got promoted. It's fitness, shape, rotations etc that get worked on. The results are not important although fans always over analyse them. Last years results were pretty decent and we got relegated.

Not that bothered about the level of opponents. People forget that when we went up with Warnock, the bulk of our pre-season games were against local teams in Cornwall.

Said on another thread that the scorelines aren't important in friendlies and the same goes with level of opponents.

It's about evolving our system, playing against different systems and fitness levels.

Sort it out, mun! :occasion5: :bluescarf:

Didn’t Darren Purse originally play for Southend, or was it another of our great centre halves? :ayatollah:

Tell me one professional player who crosses the line and thinks let's not worry about the results aslong as we run about like headless chickens it's all good, even if we lose 5-0 fans won't care as it's about fitness. I don't know any tbh. Although you hear that excuse more from fan if we lose Vs a non league side in any game tbh

Sven, Darren Purse has had more clubs than Nick Faldo  - but I dont think Southend was one of them.

Thanks, Paul. I had a look and it was the great (IMHO) Spencer Prior :notworthy:

I knew there was a centre half link :laughing6: :ayatollah:
