Rob Edwards is at Middlesbrough.

Who will have the most success and be sacked last?

I was surprised how many managers the excellent Steve Gibson has :

Aitor Karanka (November 2013 - March 2017)
Steve Agnew (March 2017 - June 2017)
Garry Monk (June 2017 - December 2017)
Tony Pulis (December 2017 - May 2019)
Jonathan Woodgate (June 2019 - June 2020)
Neil Warnock (June 2020 - November 2021)
Chris Wilder (November 2021 - October 2022)
Michael Carrick (October 2022 - June 2025)

He is not afraid of firing the gun, then we have us

Russell Slade (Oct 2014 - May 2016)

Paul Trollope (May 2016 - October 2016)
Neil Warnock (October 2016 - November 2019)
Neil Harris (November 2019 - January 2021)
Mick McCarthy (January 2021 - October 2021)
Steve Morison (October 2021 - September 2022)
Mark Hudson (September 2022 - January 2023)
Sabri Lamouchi (January 2023 - May 2023)
Erol Bulut (June 2023 - September 2024)
Omer Riza (September 2024 - April 2025)

Christ its a tough old life being a championship manager. I think BBM outlasts Edwards

Average lifespan of championship manager 9mnths I know people go on about us and how many we have had but honestly while full time (not temp) is high its comparable with a lot of clubs
Bbm to last longer

I wouldn't compare the two. Two clubs in different leagues and with different expectations.

We wouldn't ask who out of BBM and the new Notts County manager would stay in their job longer.

No secret that I'm a fan of BBM and hope he achieves success. But I'm not sure these comparisons are entirely helpful.

Incorrect. Its 12-14months. We're averaging a new manager every 9 months post leaving the prem.

I started thinking that Boro would have fewer managers because most of them would have had multiple seasons, as I think of them as a well-run club, and was surprised how many they had. So if I were comparing the 2, only Slade and Warnock had more than 1.5 seasons

Fair play to Weaver and Harrogate.

Incredible to manage a club for 16 years these days.

The fact that Rob Edwards was linked with Cardiff City makes the comparison with Brian Barry-Murphy far more relevant than just two managers in different leagues. Both were clearly on the radar for challenging roles, and it will be fascinating to see how they perform in their respective new jobs.

Edwards at Middlesbrough with Championship ambitions, and Barry-Murphy tasked with getting Cardiff immediately back out of League One. Their successes and longevity will be a genuine talking point, especially for those who followed Cardiff's managerial search.

Personally, I don't think Rob Edwards will do that well, so I'll go for BBM lasting longest, but then again, I'm not too sure on BBM either, moving Ralls and Rhino on shows a ruthless streak and that he wants to really shake things up and start afresh.

I'll watch with interest how each get on and the other Managers linked like Nathan Jones.
