What a load of tosh each player coming out individually just like in American sports..
Just put it on to take a casual look at it, what a farce

The one by one walk on is unnecessary.

To be fair I only put it on briefly and should say for balance that apparently there have been good crowds for other games.

Last I watched was Palmeiras last night they had a fair few fans they are well supported, looked fuller for that one but this one is a bit dull. I’m gonna see what the boca fans are like hopefully bring an atmosphere . It can’t get any worse surely, I’m saying this after what we saw down the city last season

There does seem to be some belief amongst a lot of British football fans judging by comments I've read elsewhere that this tournament is below them whereas the rest of the world (Including the rest of Europe) see it as a top level competition to be won rather than a waste of their time. It's not like it's a new competition but it is a very new format for it compared to the last 20 odd years.
So far I haven't been overly impressed but that might just be because it's been very like the group stages of the WC & it will liven up once the knock out stages are reached.
No doubt Liverpool fans are laughing their heads off at 2 of their main rivals being involved in this rather than preparing for the new season.

The point I thought it was a joke is when I found out that Inter Miami were in it, yet LA Galaxy (the actual MLS Cup winners, as I'm sure you'll know due to your location) didn't get in.
That just didn't add up to me.

Chelsea win tonight in front of 22,000 fans at a 70,000 stadium - SSN

There's definitely been some shenanigans as far as qualification for the whole thing but that's down to wanting Messi to be in the competition, no idea why. Hopefully they sort out real qualifications for the next time rather than choosing who they (FIFA) want to be there. I pay 0% attention to the MLS and who wins what, the level of play isn't great from what I have actually seen.
As for the Chelsea v LA match, they didn't expect any more than 25,000 to start with. 3pm on a random Monday afternoon isn't the best time to have a game at the start of the tournament, 4,000 miles away from Chelsea & 2,000 miles away from L.A. hardly inspires the fans to travel. FIFA, for some obscure reason have kept everything in house & it shows, I knew zero about this until I saw it mentioned on here, and haven't seen one commercial for it anywhere.
Like I said already, hopefully it will get better once they reach the knock out stages.

It’s surprising they didn’t invite Wrexham

You’ve got to say that Real Madrid have taken it seriously as they paid a fee for Trent so he could play in this competition, I believe the winner get over 100mill aswell and they get to wear the winners badge on the front of their shirt for the next 4 years

Man City play their 1st game tomorrow .

Tournament may be cursed....

Might watched a bit of Real Madrid tonight.
Intrigued to see how Alexander-Arnold fits in. Looks like they seem him as RB.
I think he's a tricky one because his crossing is better than Beckham, but he can't defend.

And Real Madrid get a very disputed penalty in the last minute with the score at 1-1. And the keeper saves it, justice served in my opinion.
7 minutes added on at the end for Real Madrid to try again the next time the ref tries to help them.

I regularly watch La Liga.
The amount of help Real Madrid get from officials is unbelievable. Reminiscent of Man Utd in the Ferguson days.
That's why they get so angry when it doesn't go their way in Europe.
Biggest club in the world but also the biggest cryers.

PSG & Chelsea both beaten, the Brazilian teams showing the way & packing out the stadiums. The overall coverage hasn't been great, the BBC are hardly covering it at the moment although they do have an interesting poll up today on some of the changes that are being trialed.

Never a pen but like in la Liga get the decisions... watched part of game like Chelsea just can't get excited enough to watch an whole game ... crowds better for s American teams and miami as they played at home but still not anywhere full the stadiums.

2 Brazilian teams up first, should be a tetchy encounter & the first yellow card is shown after 2 minutes.

Palmeiras go through 1-0 after extra time. If that was a taste of the best of Brazilian football they shouldn't bother again. Both teams played like they were trying not to lose rather than trying to win.

Chelsea 1-0 up with four minutes to go but the match has now been delayed due to a storm.
This is what we have to look forward to when it's the World Cup next year.

Problem ned is they have a protocol and it is strict could easily have finished game but when say stop you stop! Let's hope no hurricanes next year... I already decided wasn't going if Wales got there as I know what its like in July ...
If you remember last time there jack Charlton was not happy bunny because of the heat

Well, it is in the USA, so we can expect these kind of antics and Disney sponsorship in the way of a certain Mickey Mouse!
For me, this is a non-competition that just goes to show the monetary-mindedness of FIFA, who have no interest in player welfare and IMHO are testing the ground for a World League if selected clubs in the not too distant future

The PSG - InterMiami game was actually very good. All out attack from both teams. I enjoyed. 4-0 could gave easily been 15-0, but also 4-5.
