Most staff will stay

BBM:

What will staff look like?

I’m waiting to meet the rest of the staff. Gavin Ward, people like that, I know there’s discussion around him, his contract is expiring. But I’ve not spoken to him yet.

The idea is to come in and work with the structures in place. If there’s any situation where we can improve that going forward then maybe we will.

But I feel the club is really well staffed and the structure is really strong.

This is one thing that slightly worries me, I would have liked at least a couple more staff.

But he also said there could be more additions as time goes on.

It's clear the bulk of the coaching will be done by BBM and Riley.

Just hope Purse isn't involved.

Purse is back with the U21s and hopefully that’s where he will stay. Don’t want him anywhere near the first team.

Yes I think that's the case.

I would have liked more coaches but it's clear BBM and Riley will lead the way.

Like you said on another thread, they'll both have the same and clear idea of what to do.

Purse has helped develop the current crop of youngsters so he must have something about him

BBM and Riley will be doing the bulk of the coaching and decision making and they are obviously going to be singing off the same hymn sheet so that’s an improvement on the last few years straight away

Totally agree.

Just waiting for the usual faces to come on here and proclaim this a disaster because they can't help themselves. Would have liked a few more coaches but as you say, BBM and Riley are the ones that matter.

Waiting to watch the press conference in full but I like his quotes again.

Makes a change having a manager who talks in plain language so us fans can see where the club going ...
Let's hope it continues when we lose the 1st game? None of the crap previous managers spouted

What’s Tom Ramasut got on VT? How does he keep surviving manager changes. Baffled.

Someone has to fill the kettle and put the cones out; he knows where everything is kept, you'll always need those types. Its clear that BBM is the head coach, he sets the schedules, workload, and will be very vocal on the drills. Reilly is number 2 and also takes sessions or sub groups.

In the press conference he didn't mention Ramasut (or Purse).

Spoke about Gavin Ward and said he needed to speak to him.

But didn't mention others.

Pretty obvious that the main coaches are BBM and Riley, the rest will just do the lower end stuff.

Name the ones that have nailed down a regular starting place in our squad.

None.

That's not down to them or even Purse though. It's down to managers who have an addiction with experienced players.

One thing we know about BBM is he trusts youth.

I think the first team will be packed with players 23 or under.

We'll see in August.

The obsession with Purse on this board is baffling.

I watched some of the games managed by purse. They played horrific football.

My impression of BBM is he'll have the U21s, U18s and so on playing the same style as the first team.

Purse escaped the ‘axe’ in the last cull and his position remained ‘under review’ but this thread makes it more likely he will stay

I had advocated he should depart but if the new man is ‘happy’ with his role, that’s good enough for me in support of the new #TeamBluebird :ayatollah:

Think people are missing something? When new man comes in generally the ex managers coaching staff go with him but in city's case riza assistants were employed by club (as was riza) before he took over..... Bbm already brought in one assistant maybe more to come.
