Gavin Chesterfield

I've noticed from BBM's club interview and the press conference today, that he mentions Gavin Chesterfield a lot.

Could he be a sort unnamed bridge between BBM and the board?

Both seem passionate about the academy players that will help form our squad for the upcoming season.

Ned, Gavin Chesterfield appears to have played a part in the whole process of finding and employing the new Head Coach and that surely means he is ‘trusted’ by the man at the top?

You're right Chris.

I'm not against it. Chesterfield has helped bring up these players who will form our first team next season.

Wouldn't put him in the Purse category. He's clearly a good person for the young players.

His career is taking off, UWIC - Barry - Haverfordwest - Barry - Cardiff - DOF-type role?

I only met him once but spoken to him on the phone a few times when he was at Barry as I had a small involvement in their financial affairs. He did a great job in helping Barry get back to the top end of League of Wales football and into Europe after they were demoted to the bottom rung and even threatened with expulsion by the FAW.

At Barry he didn't just coach the team but was instrumental along with some backers and the supporters group in building the club up again off the field as well. It may not be at anywhere the level at City but it does show he has both the commitment and intelligence to have some sort of role as a link between the playing side and the board level.

I would leave him where he is now.

This crop of youngsters coming through are some of the nose exciting we have had for quite some time, so whatever he is doing as the Head of Academy is obviously working.

Working with BBM closely who has got great experience with the youngsters could turn out to be really fruitful.
