Isn't this what we've always wanted?

BBM will trust the young players, he will let them flourish.

We will play aggressive and progressive football.

He has said he is here to win the league but in the right way.

The name of the game is success and he'll rightly be judged on that.

But my initial thoughts are overwhelmingly positive.

But Riza said so much the same.

Murphy has said what we want to hear and I will say this he sounds like a manager unlike Riza.

Sounds amazing, but as you know he will have to put all this in to action and also results.

At least he has All the pre-season games, misses out on nothing.

He has inherited a very good squad for this division and He himself has acknowledged that.

I agree Annis.

He will be judged on results and that's what ultimately matters.

Hard work for him starts on Monday.

The good news is Murphy will have a good 6wks to get to know his squad inside out and plenty of friendlies.
He inherits an excellent bunch of players under 25.

Just watched the presser, wow

My takeaway was "never forget where you are from, Cork, Cardiff".

We are not sophisticated Italians nor Spanish technicians; we expect commitment and hard work.

I am as excited as when Warnock came.

We don’t know what we want.

We won’t have the patience for this.

What for Trollope get? 10 games?

Speak for yourself, but I'm excited.

BBM is no Trollope. PT was a low level coach.

BBM has managed the best academy in the land and has an idea of how to play which he will be stubborn about - in a good way.

Also have to appreciate who Lee Riley is. Not just a coach at Man City but their talent scout.

I have not been more excited about an appointment for a long long time.

I agree, but no fanbase is united in style or wants. I just moved away from a lovely group, but one of them, every time the centre half had to ball screamed "launch it" :D

I think he is going to have to do a lot of fan education sessions. I love a pretty direct German/dutch 433. I hated Morison, Buluts, and Rizas' view of football, and that's why I came across so negatively pretty early on those managers, because i don't understand what we are trying to achieve, I just couldn't see it.

He is not going to be giving away tactics or secrets, I would imagine every club will know what we are doing, its trying to stop it will be their job.

He needs to educate me

I think he won't get much sleep for the next few weeks as he'll no doubt be watching many of last season's games on video. The games moved on since Warnock and Malky and modern young players are more used to BBM's methods. I think some of our fans will get an education too.

Spot on, I think we got a glimpse with Wales

I agree Worcester and Annis. Confidence is growing. I will now buy my season ticket next week. We have a lot of good youngsters. Ng and Robinson will have to step up or they will be gone. Etete and Willock last chance saloon. Purse like wise. Nash is a MUST. Pompous odious little man who has taken the atmosphere away. Ken Choo should get rid of him to show he himself does something for a wage. I have a spring in my step again. :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :bluebird:

If this comes off, it is what everyone would have wished for, we can build this team from our youngsters and without spending a fortune, I think it's a no brainer.

time will tell fortunately time will reveal all he wasnt my choice i will say that but i will support him at least and comment when we know more about the team how we play results will determine if its a succesful recruitment or not

As a club we have made some shocking appointments under Tans ownership, but I actually don’t think this is one of them.

We have for years now seen one year contracts, no real vision and no real plan.

BBM on a three year deal, the plan of buying younger, coach able players, whilst having some of the best youngsters coming through that we have seen for some time, excites me.

His ability to bring through these younger players could be massive for us. Either we get promoted, they come on the journey with us, or we reap the profits.

Some will say ‘oh but Rochdale’ or ‘no one at Leicester has heard of him’ - that may be your opinion which you are entitled to, but the guy deserves a fair crack at the whip to show what he is made of.

Football is meant to be about excitement. And by what he has said in his interviews, it sounds like that’s what he’s going to give us.

We're a fan base beaten down by being let down.

He has a massive job. Lets see what he's got.

Re: Isn't this what we've always wanted?

Style is always an interesting one .. but for me, people only care about it when we lose.

If BBM gets off to a good start, no matter how we play, people won’t care. If we end up with 75% and lose 1-0 with only a shot or two, then people will gripe.

It’s a results business and as long as he’s got us towards the top end of the league, he’ll have as long as he needs. Clear out the dead wood as he goes and it looks promising.

Talks a good game on paper, time will tell.

I love the positivity and will give him a chance, and so should we all, onwards and upwards BB-Ms barmy army :ayatollah:

so many managers say similar things before just to please the fan base but ultimately its the same situation as always.
Tan so far given no hints on whether or not the manager will get the funds for players or whether tan said to the new manager the players you sell you can spend the cash you get from them.

BBM has already said there's no pressure to sell players.

Ned,

Then Salech 100% won’t be sold or our younger players :bluebird:

It’s very disappointing that there was NO news of a new structure at the club and, although it was an impressive first press conference by Murphy yesterday.

I can’t help but feel that he’s going to have to be very good to succeed if we are going to continue to be run on the same old Vincent Tan knows better than any one else lines.

That said, I agree that it seems like our new manager was very impressed by Gavin Chesterfield but then he had to be, he recommended him to Tan,who was very much to the fore in the recruitment process, so, while there might not be the formal new job titles people were wanting, the most important thing is that someone like Chesterfield becomes more influential within the club, I don’t agree .

The same Tan structure is still there and Purse continues with U21’s that is very very worrying
