Athletico Baleares - Gutted

Was following the game earlier and was quietly confident of a win having drawn the away leg 1-1 last week especially as Baleares finished 2nd in their group and CD Teruel finished 5th in theirs.

At half time the scores were level but shortly after the break Teruel scored and then went 2-0 through Theo Le Normand.

Baleares scored almost immediately and then in the 82nd minute equalised the game at 2-2

I am not sure whether away goals count double or not but 4 minutes into injury time Le Normand scored his 2nd and then followed with two more in the 97th and 99th minute to place the result at 2-5 (3-6 on aggregate).

Such a cruel way to finish a season in which there appeared to be a lot of improvement - in a division which is very hard to get out of - with only the 5 group winners getting promoted and then 5 of the 20 play off qualifiers.

Can’t believe ,just got home from game:

Every time since I’ve been watching Atletico Baleares since 2011, they have Failed every time on the play offs.

Finished 2nd this season.

Athletico Baleares presently play in the Segunda federation ("RFEF") and finished 2nd in their group.

5 group winners get promoted to the Primera RFEF.

Positions 2,3,4 and 5 in each group then take part in a 20 team Play Off (Today was leg 2 of this part).

The 10 qualifiers then play another set of games of which 5 teams get promoted.

Seems like a very strange way to get promoted.

It’s a pathetic way and at 2-2 Atletico were in the Final.

They scored 84/95 and 96 mins and won 2-5

They deserved it, yet Atletico were 2nd in the league undefeated in their last 17 games.

Fail every time in the play offs.
