A forum for all things Cardiff City

It’s now been nearly a month since Riza was Sacked and we’ve been down this road many times when the Cardiff Hierarchy say they are looking but really nothing is happening???
New name linked with Bluebirds job
The Sun report that St Mirren boss Stephen Robinson is on Cardiff City's list of potential new managers. The Bluebirds are on the hunt for a new boss following Omer Riza's sacking last month, with Aaron Ramsey taking over on an interim basis fir the last 3 games and has himself already decided it’s not for him the Cardiff managers job.

Not particularly good stats as a manager, seems we just keep going down the same road

I would tend to agree.
Points per game is low in his managerial career, and he has no experience in the league that we are going to be in.

Do good stats lead to good managers? Guy from Bournemouth may have low stats because he hasn't got a record managerial wise but there are fair few pundits/experts reckon he'll do a good job for us... Carrick does ok and he had no experience other than playing in premier league before boro I suggest swans manager same he's done ok.... any appointment is a risk the one thing cannot have is a total novice.... Time will tell if board choose wisely.

Worst manager linked so far in terms of stats, hope it's not true. But I don't know a lot about him in fairness.
Slightly disagree with the OP. Yes it has been about a month since Riza went but only just over a week since the season ended.
I have always said that we should have a in place by the start of June, that's still my view.
No point in rushing one in for tomorrow when all the players are on holiday.
Although I agree that we've heard names linked before when really the board are doing nothing.

Decent manager working with very little money. Knows how to set a team up. Favours physically strong players, who put themselves about. Personally I think he could do a job, especially in Div 1.

I personally think the new manager should already be in place sorting out the shit show that he will inherit, Jacks already bought 2 or 3 in. Pre season should be being planned already by the manager not the board if they are that is.
I can see it being a last minute panic again and we end up no better, hope not though. We should be going into pre season with the squad for next season so the new boss knows what he has got. Just an opinion of course that we need a good pre season that is in UK and followed well by us as fans to set our stall out for the new season, which is arguably the biggest for years.

Don't see a huge issue with a manager not being in place yet.
In the league we've just left, the likes of WBA and Norwich still don't have a manager.
Players are on holiday so it's not like there's any training to do.
Start of June has always been my preference, purely because that will give them plenty of time before the players come back.
But I understand fans not trusting the board given their past record.

Would much rather they got it right than did it fast.

Exactly this. People quick to dismiss again because it's not a fashionable name.
The job he's done at St Mirren is remarkable. Some media outlets even suggesting he should win manager of the year. He over achieved massively to get them in the top 6.
I watch the open goal podcast quite a bit and they always say St Mirren are the hardest team to play against in the league in terms of the physical battle. They battered Rangers twice this season.
Sounds exactly what we need to be honest. Check their fans forum they'd be gutted if he leaves always a good indicator.
I guarantee this, Robinson is a better manager than all the other shite we've appointed after Warnock.

But with the exception of Ralls we don't have a single player who can mix it up as well as play. I have been semi watching the L1 playoff games and they are shit, if you can match their physicality we'll be top 2 but the kicker is I don't think this lot will match it.

I agree that's why I'm not against someone like Robinson coming in as I think he would turn us back to what we've always had success with and that's being physically dominant and horrible to play against.
After watching us try to play out from the back the past few seasons I think we can all agree we are not very good at it and we don't win many games playing that way.
I doubt very much he would come here to be honest, he comes across as someone who doesn't suffer fools gladly so I doubt very much he would work with Tan and those nut jobs.
