What FORMATION for next season?

I just wondered what sort of formation we should use next season?


For me our tempo has been to slow this season.
Playing with one man up top I don't like.
And hopefully we will not play 5 at the back in Division 1
To finish in the top 5 - we will need to score 70 goals so we need to be attacking.


So I would play a 3-5-2

I'm going for old school 4-4-2 bring in genuine pace on the wings and go 2 up top and just focus on getting our wingers in behind the full backs and whipping balls in to the box, no more tippy tappy sideways passing and wingers cutting back all the time just be direct with a purpose

Too early to be thinking about that.

Ten players could leave and then we have to re-build the squad. So then we have to play a system that is best suited to those new players.

The new manager will also know which system he wants to play.

When we used to play 442 with DJ we would often get over run in midfield.

PSG/Pep Barca 4-3-3 would be my dream style to watch on a weekly basis.

More chance of me getting a game for PSG mind...

Surely you start with a system then recruit to suit it. Isn't what you've said exactly where we've gone wrong in recent years?

Need versatility as well. Ability to change formations.

Also need to think about what happens when we get fed up with the manager and they get changed.

Oh definitely when we had chopra and bothroyd up top, good wingers and we could batter teams

We definitely need to play 2 strikers every game

Salech (if he stays) and Ashford would be my choice

Well done for spotting my deliberate mistake 4-4-2 would be a better option

442 all the way. Wingers getting crosses in to two strikers. 1 up top hasn't got us enough goals.
