Will relegation see the end of Tans ownership?

Mon Apr 21, 2025 8:20 pm

Will he try and save face and hope to get us back at the first time of asking.
Or will he cut his losses and leave it to Dalman or another potential new owner?

Relegation makes it less likely I'm afraid.

Will get nowhere near what he wants, even if he lowers his asking price.

He has the same issue in Belgium - With his mate "We Sell Any Car Ken" as his CEO :o

I just wish Mr Tan would sell up BUT I cannot see it :(

Anybody who knows the South East Asian culture / mentality / psychi will know that "to save face" is EVERYTHING and "loosing Face" is the end of the world !!

Might sound a bit dramatic but it is true.

I have a feeling that Mr Tan will feel that selling up while unsuccesful, as such an embaresment that he would rather loose his investment than to sell and loose face.

Just look at other S E Asian mentality over the years:

Japan WWII - "death before dishonour" - would rather commit suicide than loose face being captured.
Viet Nam - Fought to the death for a communist way of life for thier country.
North and South Korea - Both think they are right and will never come together.
And now, just look at China saving face with trump over tariff retaliation.

Unless Mr Tan can find another way to save face (like his Mothers advice over red), I fear we will be stuck with him for a good while yet.

Just my Honest opinion :old: :bluescarf:

I understand the points raised regarding Asian values etc.

So if saving face is paramount for him, does that give us some room for optimism that he may want to oversee, and more importantly fund an immediate return to the Championship?

Likelihood is he isn't going anywhere until Sala case is concluded.
That can go on for another year at least :banghead:

Agree with that, his whole focus is on that not the club or relegation or promotion.

"Malaysians generally use softer tones of voice. Do not speak loudly, and definitely no shouting, as it is frowned upon. In an effort to avoid confrontation, Malaysians will not say what is on their minds in order to seek harmony and avoid upsetting someone. Oftentimes body language and facial expressions are a good way to read between the lines and attempt to determine what they are really thinking". :bluebird:

In my humble opinion, we can be constructively critical of someone but the name calling, hate word, mocking someone isn't how it should be done.

Anyone on this message board good at Kun Foo ? Maybe if the facial expressions aren’t enough and low tone we could have a pay per view Kun Foo match for the club . Loser is dishonoured and walks away with tail between legs.
