A forum for all things Cardiff City

The relegation fight is set to go down to the wire unless Cardiff lose or draw and everyone else wins again (Derby/Hull) just like Monday's set of fixtures. But there is still ways Cardiff can still beat the drop and that is due to Luton Town.
In a scenario that Luton and Cardiff both are level on points AND goal difference then Cardiff would leapfrog Luton due to how many goals the teams scored throughout this efl campaign.
UNLESS Luton manage to score the same amount of goals which would be only 5 goals then it would go to a head to head in which will not go our way because luton beat us twice.
But IF we did beat Luton once this season then it would go to a head to head at a neutral ground to decide who goes down.
How weird would this be if WE BEAT Luton then this scenario could of happened.
Of course this scenario has never happened in recent times so it would be unprecedented if occured today
Historically, such neutral venue matches have been rare. The most notable instance was in 1987, when Charlton Athletic faced Leeds United in a neutral venue match to determine promotion from the Third Division. Charlton won the match and secured promotion.

That's not true Sam, in that case it would have gone down to the fair play record - who has the least yellow and red cards.

Our last 4 home games should have yielded at least 9 points, that's what the other teams scrapping it out at the wrong end would have done. They were all winnable games and yet in keeping with our pathetic home record over the last few years, we got 2 miserable points from them. Hate to say it, but we really don't deserve to stay up.

Three layers of hypothetical scenarios there.
Hurt my head reading that.
