Bulut has said he wants another CB which makes sense as we only have McGuinness to cover for Goutas and Chambers at the moment, when it comes to senior players.

I’m guessing this player will be back up for Goutas and Chambers.

If it is Nat then we are really going for it.

No rumours on twitter as of yet. So just guess work for us at the moment.

If it is a first choice CB then like said would need to be at a good level to take Dimi or MM place.

There are some good options available so it will be exciting to find out who it is. Especially due to the calibre of players already brought in.

One of the options is Konstantinos Manolas who is a free agent at the moment so I would look at him

Greek international, 6ft 2 CB, ex Napoli, Roma, Olympiakos etc

We need a centre mid and striker. Maybe a LB.
Then I’ll start to feel better.

Whoever he is needs to be at the required level as we shipped alot of goals last season and lost far too many matches. But I suppose you could point to how the team were set up last season, putting additional pressure on the back 4.

CB definitely needed though, only 3 going into the season worries me.

We should see a CM I’d imagine.

What about Tsonuda, isn’t he a cb/lb? With the youngsters performing well as well I still think we need more in attack than defence

I disagree.

You can’t rely on academy players to play at centre back. It’s more important than the attack really. It doesn’t matter if you can score goals if you concede three every game.

Besides, our attack is looking good now. We have two quality wingers in El Ghazi and Willock, as well as a new striker who seems to have the attributes to succeed. In the number ten role, we also have a number of decent options. There’s talk of a few loans later in the window to add to that.

I highly doubt it’s Nat Phillips. Although he enjoyed his time with us, I don’t see us paying the fee that Liverpool are asking for.

Would be delighted to be wrong. He was brilliant for us last season and would be one of the best defenders in the league.

If we had Goutas, Chambers and Phillips it would give us three top quality centre backs.

Whoever it is, I am feeling more positive.

If we can add Robertson and a left back, we will be in a good state.

We do need more cover at the back.

Only one quality defender to come in (McGuinness) if either Goutas or Chambers out for any reason.

Its one of the big differences between clubs who go up and clubs who don't.

They can call on their rotation or bench players to step up without too much drop off from first choice players.

Be interesting to see who it is

I don’t disagree another defender would be good, it’s just people seem to be forgetting about Tsonuda, although I know he is coming back from injury. I just want to see cover for Kanga, as I don’t think Robbo or Davies can lead the line, hold the ball up and be a physical presence and then we’re back to playing Etete or Meite as a CF

Nobody is really forgetting a player with very little professional games under his belt. We definitely need a 4th CB.

Robinson probably leads the line against Sunderland, doesn’t have to hold the ball if he is to make runs and get in behind. I do want another striker for sure so we can offload Etete.
