Cardiff City fans react to Vincent Tan's proposed colours 'compromise' - saying they want blue kit reinstated NOW, not after Premier League return.

The Cardiff City owner has revealed he is willing to compromise on the kit, but wants to focus on returning to the Premier League first :o

Cardiff City fans have reacted to Vincent Tan's proposed compromise on the club's colours - saying that they are "not prepared to wait" for a Premier League return before blue is reinstated.

Bluebirds benefactor Tan revealed in an interview with the BBC on Sunday that he would be prepared to sit down with fans and "compromise" on the kit, but only after Premier League football was back in the city.

Reacting on social media, supporters said that wasn't a satisfactory solution and that blue should return straight away.

Pointing out the length of time some clubs have taken to return to the Premier League after relegation, the Cardiff City Supporters Trust said on Twitter: "Not good enough on blue promise. Took Leicester City 10 years to get back to Premier League - fans not prepared to wait that time."

Speaking to WalesOnline, South Wales Echo columnist and season ticket holder Carl Curtis added: "Nowhere in the interview does he say he will turn it back to blue.

"Now he has gone public with such an interview, it opens up the debate and, for me, there's only one compromise: that's blue and it has to be now.

"The best chance for Cardiff City Football Club is when we are united on and off the pitch and we can move forward. Until that happens, we can't move forward."

Mr Curtis added he also noted Mr Tan referring to converting just a third of his debt into equity after previously saying he would convert it all.

"The most important thing in that interview for me was the turning a third of his debt into equity and not all of it," he said.

"Two years ago he pledged he would put all of his debt into equity once he put his £100m investment in, and that when Langston was settled he would do it. Langston was settled a year ago.

"It's about a debt-free football club; it has to be a debt-free football club. We can not sustain a 100m debt or a £140 debt. We are worse off than when he (Vincent Tan) came."

To be fair I would quite happily accept a £140 debt on the club. £140m would be different but £140 would be ok by me.

We need to keep the pressure on.................but keep it civil.....................would anyone compromise if someone kept calling you a c*** :?

We can achieve our aim of returning to blue but need to allow the man to feel he can compromise without losing too much face or being insulted at the same time :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Personally I don't believe a word of it........ He's just trying to get the club back together and get the fans off his back. Debt is getting higher and Tan only turning 1/3 into equity when he said he would turn ALL debt shows he's lying so why believe he will even talk to fans about coulor change let alone consider doing it....

Spot on. We want him to covert the debt at the same time calling him a w*****, ask yourself honestly, in his position, would you???

We all want back to blue but also be a stable, debt free club.

Those seen as fans leaders need to help do this. Swallow your hatred and play the long ball game.

Thanks Paul, diplomacy and compromise is the best way forward to resolve the situation, name calling will achieve nothing.

We should aim for a RTB as soon as possible and the DTE may take a little bit longer. :bluescarf:

These fans leaders I'm afraid are too blinkered to see this. Hostility wont work, dialogue will.

Tan's statement just goes to prove how out of touch he is with regards to the club, fans, tradition, history and most important future of our great club.

Tan is far from our saviour and infact he is the one who is killing our club.

I for one am fed up with being blackmailed by the promises, lies and arrogance of this man. :( :( :( :(

He has taken the piss out of us all - there is only one thing he cares about and that is "Mr Tan" and his empire building.

Vincent, it could have been so much, much different if you only consulted with us all in the beginning - you could have been a hero but now you are a villain, through your arrogance and/or ignorance you have messed it all up and continue to mess it up ?

People can call me disloyal but I'm fed up seeing us in red at home.

The way I'm feeling at moment it's away games all the way for me and my boys until Tan leaves. Maybe after the summer I'll feel differently.

The man is a liar. He has no intention of changing his mind, he's said this to simply diffuse a growing fan problem in his eyes.

and red aint a lucky colour tan

Re: ' Cardiff City Fans reaction to Vincent Tans Announcemen

If you read my previous posts you will see i have always been against the change to Red and passionately want the return to Blue and believe the change should never have been made in the first place. However we have to understand without Vincent Tan we might not have had a Club to support because there was no one else stepping to save us and the Club was close to being wound up.

I have always believed that the only way forward is compromise but it seems that up to now Vincent Tan does not do compromise and there is no doubt that he has divided the fans and must take the majority of the blame for our relegation. To move forward and hopefully regain Premiership status we MUST be united and that means back to Blue or at the very least a compromise that will suit both parties must be sorted in time for next season.

There is a chink of light at the end of the tunnel and now we must push via negotiation and not confrontation to turn that chink of light into a floodlight of Blue :old: :bluescarf:
