Black for Blackburn

Mon Oct 01, 2012 10:57 am

BLACKBURN are set to give No 2 Eric Black a chance to stake his claim to replace Steve Kean.

Rovers have been forced into the move after their initial approach for Tim Sherwood was snubbed.

SunSport revealed last week how the Tottenham coach headed the wanted list of Rovers’ global advisor Shebby Singh.

But Spurs are ready to block Sherwood’s hopes of returning to the club he captained to the Premier League title back in 1995.

So Black will be in charge for this week’s matches against Nottingham Forest and Wolves.

Ewood legend Alan Shearer plus Keith Hill, Garry Flitcroft and Simon Grayson are also in the frame for the job.

Sherwood said last night: “I’ve got a great job where I am. It’s just speculation.”

They should give Eric Black a chance, I think. They could do worse. He played under Ferguson years ago, if I remember correctly, so he may have picked up some tips.
