Frank Lampard is now the favourite to become Coventry City's new manager, according to the bookies - and CoventryLive sports readers in our comments sections have been weighing up who they'd rather have out of the frontrunners to replace sacked manager Mark Robins.
Talks between Lampard and the club are now at an "advanced" stage, according to Sky Sports. Lampard, 46, has been out of management since a tough spell in charge of Chelsea 18 months ago, but does have success on his CV from guiding a young Derby County team to the Championship play-off finals in 2019.
Other leading names include Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has left Manchester United after a short interim spell as head coach. His notable wins come from the Dutch top flight with PSV Eindhoven, finishing second in the table and winning two cups during the 2022/'23 season.
Lee Carsley will shortly hand over the reins of the England national team to new boss Thomas Tuchel, and is highly regarded for his work with young players. He has not shown much interest in coaching at club level, but he has coached, managed, and played for Coventry City .
