RIP SIMON - Gutted and very shocked at this sad news, big City fan and also coached my daughter and his kids swimming for Barry Swimming Club. That's an absolute shock. Simon helped us out on numerous occassions and I think we all had the utmost respect for him, his attitude but the job he had to do.

I'm truly shocked, stunned and saddened by this news. A top top bloke and friend and a big City fan that would help anyone out even whilst on duty. My last dealings with Simon was when he had to search me before entering the ground at the league cup game against Northampton.
I can't believe he is gone so young, just 6 months older than me.

I did a bit of work with Simon in the past and he really was a genuine decent man. He really cared about fairness. There's not many coppers left like Simon. He will be sadly, sadly missed, not just as a copper but as a Cardiff fan as well. Truely a sad loss.

I was in the Canton Stand last season at the Barnsley game and the South yorkshire Police spotter came over to me at half time and asked me what i was doing in Cardiff and Simon came over and said "Your one of us now ar'nt you Sam?" The spotter just shook his head and walked away!
