TA -I don't know if you missed it, but I don't see anyone in the press calling for the job. I don't see a high pile of CVs.
What does that tell you?
Whats your point??
Shearer met TG and came out saying "the job wasnt for him"... So he
must have wanted it before he went in.
If as you say he was put off because he has got to totally rebuild the
side, then f**k me, he's never going to go far in management is he!!
The majority of managers jobs become available because the other guy
has fucked up, and left a mess. Going into a football club and rebuilding
in your own image is part of the remit for a modern football manager.
You watch him stick to the BBC now, he's had a glimpse of the big bad
world and decided to stay nice and comfy in the Beeb, dont blame him
either!
Again, you said it's about his bottle and he wants to play it safe.
If he wanted to play it safe he would of signed for Man Utd and never tried to save Newcastle Utd as manager.
West Ham have been able to bring in Big Sam. A manager with a proven track record.
No one seems to want this job. What does that tell you?

No one wants the job. Thus, I take from that there maybe something wrong.
MM wasn't on top of the wish list.

I said Shearer turned the job down becuase he thought that maybe something wasn't right.
I can back that point up due to us having a hard time finding someone who does want the job.
The club has finally turned to MM.
Some will say look at Chealsea. Everyone in the game knows it's going to be Gus. We had a number of targets and for some reason they didn't work out and now we FINALLY turn to MM.

We don't need to spend big, just wisely.
What about the £20 million budget we supposedly had for the forthcoming season then?
The 20 million includes wages so 1 player on 20k a week is 1 million per year.I think last seasons wage bill was around 14 million.

There is something not right.
Shearer didn't like it and now MM feels the same.
