The key talking points
Here are the key talking points:
Niasse loan deal completed
Sala close to signing, but won’t face Newcastle
Warnock unlikely to resurrect Tameze deal
Morrison a major doubt for Saturday
NEIL WARNOCK:
Both Sala and Niasse together?
“I honestly don’t know. Levels of fitness, I spoke to Oumar about his fitness and he’s not played for a while so I don’t see him doing 90 minutes. Sala has been playing regularly.”
NEIL WARNOCK:
Other targets? Tameze?
“I don’t think so, financially we’re doing as well as we can. I don’t think that’ll be resurrected But you never know.”
Injury news for Newcastle?
“I would like to tell you but I’m not 100 per cent sure about anything at the minute. There’s three lads having fitness tests, I know that.”
On Niasse
NEIL WARNOCK:
“I’m relieved. I thought it was done yesterday so to find out this morning has been a little bit unrestful but it’s nice to know he’s available for selection!
“You’ve got to understand it’s not the be all and end all for Everton that we have Niasse. I don’t mind as long as I know.
“Jagielka said he’d be my type of player. There’s not many players on loan who are like Niasse. I wanted Clyne but that meant I wouldn’t have been able to get Niasse. He’s got a chance to put himself in the shop window, like Victor.”
In for a right back?
“I thought last week there was a player coming over for a medical, but his wife didn’t fancy it. She should have had a chat with Camarasa’s wife. That’s where the power in the relationship is.”

Do expectations impact transfer policy?
NEIL WARNOCK:
“As I’ve said a few times, I’m appalled that legislation means we can only have two loan players. Ideally, I would have loved another English midfield player to give them an opportunity. I think it’s such a waste where Gareth Southgate says English lads aren’t getting enough games.
“I think it’s scandalous, that, and I think they should look into that. It’s detrimental to England. The people we’re looking at are types of players who will fit in with our squad.
“We don’t look at your Ronaldos. Sala is hard working who works his socks off for the team, doesn’t catch the eye at times but a manager’s type of player.”
Morrison?
NEIL WARNOCK:
“He had a procedure on Monday, I’ve had the physio on the phone just now. And Mehmet was on the phone as well - if it was the wife, I would have answered it. I don’t think (Morrison will play tomorrow), but if there’s any doubt I won’t play him anyway. We can’t gamble on anyone.”
