Real Betis friendly

Postby tonythomas » Thu Jul 12, 2018 1:54 pm

Partly our of curiosity, as I wasn't really aware of what players they had and wondered what kind of a test it would be as a warm up game pre Premiership I googled Real Betis.
They've got a few tasty players in their squad, so should be a decent test.
The thing that truly surprised me though was how big a club they are.
Problem in Spain, is that Real Madrid and Barcelona are SO big that all other teams tend to go unnoticed.
Was amazed that they have a 60,000 capacity stadium and that last season when finishing 6th in LaLiga they averaged 45,000 attendances.
Must have fair clout in the finance stakes as well, loaned Joel Campbell from Arsenal last season and supposedly he's on £90,000 a week.
Should be a stern test.

I know they’ve recently signed that Inui who scored a few goals for Japan. Not sure who else they have.

Only Japan's Inui and Mexico's Guardado at World Cup.
They have recently signed Everton's Joel Robles on a free transfer.

They've also recently signed William Carvalho who played in the World Cup for Portugal. Free as well as he terminated his contract
