The city council say they are finalising details with police and other partners

The fanzone was full to capacity for Saturday's game against Northern Ireland

Cardiff council cannot yet say if there will be a fanzone in the city for Friday’s Euro 2016 clash between Wales and Belgium.

A council spokesman said that the authority is still discussing with police and other partners abut whether there will be one for the quarter final match.

A council spokesman said a decision will be made public in the next day or two. The fanzone has been open for Wales’ Euro 2016 matches in Cooper’s Field in Bute Park in the city.

Cardiff fanzone sings the anthem:

Details of the venue were only announced on June 7, just four days before the first tie, after the council faced huge lobbying online for a fanzone to be organised.

It was organised in partnership with Sayers Amusements and BBC Wales as well as Football Association of Wales.

Saturday’s tie with Northern Ireland saw people turned away at the city fanzone as the 6,000 capacity had been reached.

Admission to the specially-built area was stopped not long after the game started because it was already full.

Fans watched the game through fences after admission was refused. Kick-off in the quarter final game is 8pm.

I hear there is one in the park. Believe they have placed a 3000 capacity limit there. Should be a good night.

I cannot understand why Cardiff City do not open their stadium and make some money? Hundreds of fans couldn't get into Fanzone last Saturday?
