Fred Keenor Trophy - Please All Read

Postby Dobbin » Sat Jul 31, 2010 10:20 pm

We have been approached by Media Wales to play them in a charity match in September (Date and Venue to be confirmed) in which Gwyn Davies will be donating a trophy which will now be known as the Fred keenor Trophy. It is the message board intention to play the game on an annual basis

Unfortunately we will be limited to playing numbers and I suggest we run with a squad of fifteen or sixteen maximum and that will give everyone a fair opportunity to play in the game (At present I don’t have any more details than this about costings to play, when and where it will be but I will keep you posted)

http://www.ccmb.co.uk/fudforum/index.ph ... fa2996434b :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I don’t see the playing numbers as being a problem as we currently have only ten or eleven at training each week - I would suggest that if you are interested in playing then you attend training at Jubilee Park on Wednesday's at 6.30pm and over the next few weeks we will pick a squad for the match.

This leads me nicely onto the AAMB V CCMB game on August 22nd - I am not sure what has happened over the week but it appears Hughesgirl and Hughesboy want nothing more to do with the event. As far I am concerned the match will still take place however the issue we have is we are nowhere near getting the 22 players to attend training, let alone pay for the match so what I suggest is we go back to what I originally suggested and we go in with a squad of 15 max 16 and maybe pay £25 as we discussed at training on Wednesday.

I will ask Mozzer and Milly to asset me with squad selection for both the matches that will make it a fair choice - If you really want to play in the games then you will need to attend training and also Mozzer has kindly agreed a friendly on August 15th Sunday in which we will pick our final squad from - You will only have yourself to blame if you don’t put your name in the frame by attending training and the match - There will be no excuses. I believe this to be the fairest way of doing it and what I believed from the start as it is only fair to give everyone a decent run out.

I can only help out with the football side as those that attend training know I am in pre season training twice a week Tuesday's and Thursday's and then have my lads football Friday's and Sunday's.

I will see you all Wednesday at 6.30pm at Jubilee Park where I should have some more information for you

I have spoken to Dan and arranged to meet him at the sheffield game to give him our money. (he is collecting our shirts)

So i shall bring a notepad and take down everyones names and collect the money and pass it along to Dan so he can pay for our shirts.

He would also like to know if anyone can help with the raffle tickets?

I also agree with the squad number change, its only the same 15/16 turning up every week.

See you at training wednesday

I still need money for shirts which would be covered in subs but everyone can still play alongs they've been/will be going but if your not even going to turn up I still need 5 pounds off you for your shirts which you'll be given anyways
