We, the undersigned, as Cardiff City fans and fans of football in general, believe that the colour blue is synonymous with the club, and has been since the club became known as "Cardiff City Football Club" back in 1908.

We also insist our Bluebird to remain no matter what on our badge, in fact it should be larger.

We are extremely grateful for the amount of work that Tan Sri Vincent Tan (VT), Datuk Chan Tien Ghee (TG) & their associates have done with Cardiff City FC (CCFC) since they arrived back on 27th May 2010 & their efforts thus far, to guide the club to the Premier League, but we feel that the changes to "rebrand" the club is a step too far.

In May 2012, plans were announced by TG to totally rebrand CCFC and strip the club of its traditional blue shirt to a red shirt with black trim. A change was also made to the club crest and the "dominant" symbol of the club became the dragon. In return for this, VT promised an injection of large sums of cash to put the club on a sound financial footing and to make a real effort for promotion to the Premier League. The club's Malaysian investors believed red to be a more dynamic colour for marketing in Asia, as well as of more national significance in Wales.

it is vital to point out that none of this was planned with any fan consultation at any point.

CCFC had played in blue since 1908. We won the FA Cup and competed in the top flight in those colours, we are the Bluebirds. A huge part of our identity, history and tradition are bound up in the colours, badge and nickname of the club.

We feel that football ownership isn't a business like any other. Dealing with people's hopes, dreams & tradition. 100 years of history & club tradition shouldn't be easily disregarded in order to gain riches or success.

We the undersigned, ask that the colour blue is returned as the clubs primary colour. We feel that the red shirt should be reserved for the away kit, to enable the club to use the shirt to promote the club in Asian markets, which the owners feel is vital for the club's growth.

We also ask that if the club do not wish to return to the original crest, that they consult with the fans to create a new crest to go forward with, incorporating the famous Bluebird.

It must, however, be stressed that we DO NOT WISH to force VT, TG & their associates to leave/abandon the club. We would like to place, on record, our thanks for their contributions to the club and from saving CCFC from certain financial disaster.

I'm going to bookmark this page too and keep bumping it myself personally, every day if need be.

Also, anyone on facebook/twitter should share this i think if you agree with it. It may/may not work but let's at least say we've tried everything we can, and if it doesn't work then i will be more than happy to get involved in protests either at the end of the season or in meaningless games at the end of the season, if we're already promoted, for example.

I honestly can't see why anybody wouldnt sign it!

Surely everybody would prefer us to still be playing in blue if it didn't mean the Malaysians leaving and that's exactly what this petition is about.

Not like it's gonna hurt on-field matters either, it's a polite petition not a match-day protest or anything of that kind. In fact i think it could help, if anything, by brining all the fans back together and making for a better atmosphere, rather than dividing everyone like it has done.

Chuckles is there a way to get this out ? IE to non message board users. Maybe the echo or even try and get it on the Real Radio sports talk show and give out details on how to sign this petition. Someone who is a good talker and not to come through as confrontational

We are constantly told VT is now in far to deep.They wanted him to splash the cash to get himself stuck in this Club. Well that he has truly done hasn't he. So now not even the most hardcore backer of the re brand can say they are worried VT will get upset and fook off with his money.
So we can now put a little pressure on VT to try and get our blue back. What have we got to loose ?
Only those that actively love and want the red to stay will not want to sign this petition and that is there choice. But me I don't recognise the red kit or the new badge.

paul i would happily sign it although this in the main is about ccfc fans who want to return to blue.i,v yet to meet one fan of any club who thinks the rebrand is a good idea for you or football in general

Just signed that Barry, Good idea mate, forget the keep cardiff blue campaign I feel if we can promote this idea a simple petition and fingers crossed get a few thousand signatures at some point then that would serve as a message to the Malaysians. No people targeting them. abusing them done in a civil manner. But numbers speak volumes and we need to promote this via all social media groupd. Hopefully annis and mike morris can put as a sticky. And anyone on facebook please post and encourage people who back the idea to sign it. A positive start already well done
