The funniest thing is Hicks and Gillett blocked Rafa Benitez signing Falcao for Liverpool for £3m before he moved to Porto and now they are crying out for a striker.

I disagree. Torres came through the youth system. Aguero was signed from Independiente for huge money and Falcao was also signed for huge money. Good striker scouts would be able to spot players like Aguero and Falcao at a young age to be able to pick them up for peanuts. Barcelona obviously have good scouts, they spotted Messi at a young age for Newell's tearing apart kids in youth games 2 years older than him and signed him for peanuts before his reputation and price enhanced.
