Craig Bellamy: This Cardiff squad is the most honest I’ve ever worked with
Dec 8 2012

Craig Bellamy
" I came back here to help the club win promotion. "

CRAIG Bellamy hailed his Cardiff City team-mates as the “most honest and hard-working group I’ve ever worked with” as the Bluebirds soared four points clear at the top of the Championship.

Bellamy was among the scorers as Cardiff romped to a 4-1 win at Blackburn – their first victory at Rovers since November 1980.

“I was so fortunate last year to win a trophy at Liverpool but I came back here to help the club win promotion,” said Bellamy.

“It would be a dream to do that but the best thing working with this bunch of players is that it’s the most honest and hard-working group I’ve ever worked with. We just wear teams down, we work so hard for each other and that’s why we’re top of the league at this moment.”

Skipper Mark Hudson put City in front with a 30th minute header before Joshua King levelled for Rovers soon after the restart.

But Bellamy restored City’s lead and substitutes Joe Mason and Kim Bo-Kyung added the gloss, the South Korean claiming his first Cardiff goal.

“The way we applied ourselves as a team and the amount of second balls won gave us the chance to play our football,” said manager Malky Mackay. “We created chances, we were clinical in front of goal and now we can relax and see how the other teams get on.”

The only sour note was a fifth booking of the season for Hudson which rules him out of next Saturday’s visit from Peterborough.

Given the number of clubs he's played for and the level he's played at I was quite taken aback by the statement.Nice to see him so gracious in victory too.

Annis, craigs comment on the way we wear teams down, and it's the hardest working group he has worked with, to me, is the biggest hint yet that things were not right when he was here last time around under DJ, it is now obvious (which we all thought anyway) that there were too many premadoners/bottlers in the squad under jones and he done nothing about it, malky has many qualities as a young manager but one thing you can guarantee from him, he will demand that every player gives everything for the team :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I was commenting the same last night, our side worked so hard, and not just the 'usual suspects', we looked stronger, fitter and more committed. Once you win your battles you can then play your football.

THAT'S WHY WE'RE TOP OF THE LEAGUE, THAT'S WHY WE'RE TOP OF THE LEAGUE, THAT'S WHY WE'RE TOP OF THE LEAGUE,
THAT'S WHY WE'RE TOP OF THE LEAGUE, THAT'S WHY WE'RE TOP OF THE LEAGUE, THAT'S WHY WE'RE TOP OF THE LEAGUE,

Yet people still slag him off, call him a waste of money, a disruptive influence in the camp - BOLLOX!!

The man oozes passion, desire and commitment to the cause.

Future Cardiff manager, i'm sure of it.

Perhaps people will now get off his back, as I have said before this man always gives 100%, and this will rub off on all of our stars. he will take us up, so back him,not slag him off :D :D :D
