Cardiff Aggro

Wed Dec 05, 2012 2:36 pm

When I was a young child say 6 or 7, so 1982/3 someone painted a big "Cardiff Aggro" and "CCFC" on the wall of the park at the bottom of my mothers street. Its still there to this day.

Was this the name of a firm before the Soul Crew, or was it a chant of some kind?

Assuming its some sort of reference to FV.

A chant.

We use to chant "A G, A G R, A G R O, AGRRO"

We were not very good at spelling in those days.

If you ever heard allo! allo! Cardiff agro! Cardiff agro!
You knew it was kicking off.
sounded great from under the grange end when everyone would run across the timber terracing into whoever
It was a big hit in the seventies.

Aggro was the name given to any sort of trouble, but mostly associated to football, think it originated from the skinhead days and is basically a play on aggressive behavior :old: .

And to the tune of The LiverBirds:
If your standing,
On a corner,
With a Swansea scarf,
Round your neck,
Cardiff boys will come and get you,
And we'll break your f*cking neck.
La La la La, la la la la etc etc

And the 'U5's' graffiti by the Grange entrance when you walked behind it to get to the Bob.

You should complain to your local councillor if graffiti lasts that long or did he spray it in the first place ?

Looking at the spelling it could be the case ?

It might even have been a Flash advert, come to think.

The Cardiff Aggro chant was sung to a tune of a Gary Glitter song!

four cardiff skinheads lying on the floor,
kick them in the bollocks, kick them in the head, kick em, kick em, till they're f@cking dead,
na na na. . . .
