Whats with the obsession with Football Manager on here?

Football manager never played but it sounds s**t and looks crap. It has not a scratch on Fifa.

People enjoy it get over it. I cant get enough of a bunch of these glorified spreadsheets to be honest

Nothing wrong with football manager, FIFA uses alot more coding that what FM's would these days. An tbh if your playin FIFA, you have a console, 1st class n000b chav gaming consoles are anyways. Get a PC an do some real gaming, till then stop bumpin ya gums

Not really, consoles are designed specifically for gaming and do it A LOT easier.

The problem is when posters say something like "fine him 2 weeks wages" or expect David Kerslake to provide Malky with a list of suitable loan candidates it gets worrying. Its a game, it bares very little resemblance to real life.

From a personal perspective I play it to wind down after a day in the office.

That said I understand that there are a few managers who have "bought" the data and use it for their own scouting purposes - David Moyes name was one that I had heard - but I dare say there are others.

football manager is enjoyable, closest any of us will get to the real thing.

I dont really get the time to play it anymore though.

A lot of our 'new fans' have never kicked a football in their lives. Never had the shit
kicked out of them on the pitch, or had to man up and give it back.

But feel qualified to criticise Malky Mackay because they play football manager and
honestly believe they have picked up an inkling of what the game is all about through
that!!

I played football up until I got my disability and thankfully its not as bad as when I first got it so started playing again recently.

I agree with your point though. Never got the hype with Football Manager. Played it for a bit and got bored. FIFA is different as something is happening plus you can play against mates and socialise and have a laugh before heading into town etc. I'd rather play FIFA or go out and kick a ball by myself than play football manager.
