2 games away with 4-4-2, 2 games lost

You asked, you begged, you pleaded for Malky to go with 4-4-2 away from home because it was working so well at home and now you are seeing why Malky was so insistent on playing 4-5-1. You got what you wanted. He listened to the fans that begged for Mason or Velikonja to be put up alongside Helguson.

Now, because that has backfired, you are calling for the managers head. This is ridiculous. You wanted the 4-4-2 away from home but Malky was tactically right in the first place. 4-5-1 is what we need away from home because it gives us that little bit extra solidity needed in midfield and the main possession battle, it stops us being overrun like we were yesterday.

So you can all sit back and slate Malky as much as you like but when we were drawing or picking up cheeky wins against teams like Ipswich using 4-5-1 you all moaned about it. At least then we were picking up points, against teams as well we historically struggle against on the road.

Malky gave you what you asked for so stop moaning. He gave you the 4-4-2 away from home you all craved. Now that has not gone to plan you are making him the scapegoat. Malky was initially right and you slated him, you never had faith in him, you hung the very man you should back out to dry. Disgusting.

I pray to God he reverts back to a 4-5-1 for our next away game to keep things solid in the middle of the park. Malky has proven all the Football Manager addicted idiots who think they know best really don't have a clue at all.

Its akin the slating a president for a policy that you voted in. Malky has no blame in this whatsoever. You all forced him to change to a 4-4-2 with your constant berating of his tactics away from home.

Not saying all of you did but some of you did. The only thing stopping us getting promoted will be the fans.

The thing is barnett we have taken the lead in both games 1-0 up and 2-0 up then we sit back so we chuck games away like that its been the same thing for most away games score sit back and even you know what happens then even if your a pissed up student who works for a seria A club

Yes and both games we took the lead. We gave ourselfs a chance. However what is becoming apparent is that we are use to failure. No formation will get rid of that if that is how this squad is feeling.

The game vs Ipswich we were behind. The score at 30 minutes into the game and the score at 60 minutes into a game are irrelevant. What matters is the score once the final whistle blows.

The problem is most definitely the formation. With 4-5-1 we have the strength in the midfield to see it out and break teams down at the same time. With 4-4-2 we can attack as proven vs Charlton but we are easily exposed as there is no cover. The problem is the 4-4-2 formation. Away from home we need extra strength in the middle to stop being exploited so easily because teams will be pumped up in front of their own home crowd and will most definitely have spells where they are stronger than us.

trouble is they don't seem fluid playing 4-5-1, playing 4-5-1 makes us difficult to break down but can also turn into a 4-3-3 when needed which we don't ever seem to do when playing it. I do blame Malkay, i'm sure he will be a great manager but seems to be learning on the job which is not want we want right now.

442 yet mason playing way deeper which infact makes it 451!! We need that ruthless centre mid cause cowie and whitts cant do it together, why cant.kiss and gunnar sit and whits just infront? It worked at home v southampton last year! Just seems malky doesnt wanna change anything and dont bloody say well he replaced kim with fri so what one postion! He tries flooding midfeild away from home and we get caught out on wide areas cause he likes wingers to cut inside to flood the centre!!!

So tell me enlightened one why we shipped 3 at palace four at Bristol then playing 4-5-1? It's not necessarily the donation it's his tactics in general, you cannot play Whittingham in a holding role alongside cowie and expect your midfield to compete at this level, it may work at home because teams are reluctant to push forward in numbers but when we are away the home team will mainly dominate possession and will attack in numbers and that midfield pairing is too weak, u need a Rottweiler in there to make things ugly, a Mutch or kiss to really stir things up and break play down a Whittingham won't do that plain and simple so we'll always ship goals
