Craig Noone hits out at away form critics

Tue Nov 06, 2012 4:58 am

CARDIFF City’s Craig Noone has branded those critical of the Bluebirds’ away form as talking ‘rubbish’.

Malky Mackay’s men head to Charlton tonight looking to keep their place at the top of the Championship.

But if their form at home has been perfect with 21 points earned out of 21 so far, on the road Cardiff have picked up just seven points from seven outings.

The latest reverse came at Bolton on Saturday when, despite Noone opening the scoring, the Bluebirds crashed 2-1.

But now the summer capture from Brighton insist those questioning City’s away showings are out of order.

“Home and away, it’s not really much different, but the results away are going against us,” said Noone.

“ I don’t think the performances are that bad away from home. We keep hearing that we win our home games, but we are not that good away.

“I think that’s rubbish because the performances have been there away from home as well, it’s just been the results.

“You can’t just criticise on our away games because the performances have been there. It’s obviously more difficult going away and it’s just that the results have not been going our way.

“It’s been poor decisions which have cost us and unforced errors which cost you the games and the points obviously.”

Noone said he and his team-mates had been left disappointed by the Bolton game in which Cardiff conceded a controversial penalty and believed they should have had one of their own.

But the winger said that feeling of frustration needed to be used to bounce back against a Charlton side who have lost their last three games at The Valley.

“Bolton was frustrating and all the lads are frustrated, but you can’t dwell on it you can only hope decisions will go for you in the future,” added Noone, who has two goals in his last two games.

“You don’t sit down and dwell on the negatives because that is going to get you nowhere.

“I think some of the frustration will be out of us because we will be focusing on Charlton.

“You can’t write them off.

“They would not be in the Championship if they weren’t a good team.

“But we fancy ourselves going there. We want the three points to keep us at the top of the league.”

Can't agree with him, the performances haven't been that convincing, from what I have seen we have got exactly what we have deserved on the road so far. I do hope that the rest of the squad are not thinking that's its just bad luck. They need to tighten up defensively, grind a few results out and I am sure we will kick on. Charlton tonight is a good game to start with.

I watched the interview Taff and the press, the Tucker tw*t in particular, kept asking one question after another about away form. Pity they didn't concentrate on him saying how much he enjoys playing for the club and doing :ayatollah: for the fans.

Top guy who stood his ground and like you I respect him for that.

People are not calling him or the team shit at home the talk here dave is AWAY FORM which we are shit, 17th in the table on away form, why try put extra sugar on that to cover it up the stats dont lie dave stop trying to defend the undefendable, f**k me if we lost 10 games in a row you still be blowing MM off and every player would get 9/10 ratings, at home everythings fine away we are shit, again stats dont lie.
I can not watch the interview on iplayer as the scouse lingo makes my skin crawl, so im going off what the OP put up. :ayatollah:

I bet he feel silly saying that now

Our away form is shocking! Dont think our defenders are good enough for this promotion push tbh. Need to invest big time come January!

What has Noone to say about this.....
Just hoped Malky had spent more money on our defence as I stated at the start of the season, hope our defence wont cost us promotion like it has the last few years. :( :(
