We can only hope. He'd suit the Scotland job, he'd have a limited amount of players to pick from and can always favour the Scotsmen irrespective of ability.

Craig Levein's reign as Scotland manager has ended after prolonged SFA talks

Published on Monday 5 November 2012 16:24

CRAIG LEVEIN’S time as Scotland manager has ended following extended deliberation between SFA chiefs over his future.

The news ends weeks of speculation following a run of results that leaves Scotland bottom of their World Cup qualifying group, having failed to win a match four games into the campaign.

Levein’s controversial reign has been characterised by a string of underwhelming performances, with only three competitive victories since taking charge in 2009. He also drew criticism for a long-running feud with Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher, which was only recently buried as the former Hibernian striker returned to the side last month following talks behind the scenes.

However, calls for Levein to quit intensified following losses to Belgium and Wales in October, and following talks behind closed doors at Hampden over the weekend, Levein’s fate was eventually sealed.
