Theres an advert on the telly about low price train tickets. Its on all the time so keep your eyes open. There are also low fares on internet websites just keep looking. You can always put your name down with Carl or Tony Jefferies.

Hope this helps?

We will leave as early as possible at the cheapest price, and return pretty much straight after the game, we want to get into Manchester around midday (don't mind it being earlier) so we can have all afternoon there and watch the early kick off. Think it's Manchester United playing so it will be a cracking atmosphere there

Basically mate the adverts on the telly are quite misleading, and can cause people a lot of disappointment at times...You can get all the same tickets at all the same prices at the station as you can through any online shop.

If you want cheap tickets then the earlier you buy the cheaper you will get them. They are called advance purchase tickets, and work on similar principle to buying a plane ticket. For example, there may have been a few tickets to Bolton for £10 (just example). But once those 4 are all gone, then the next cheapest might be like £15, but when they are gone, the remaining ticket prices will go up....and so on and so on...

If you see a price online for £15, and don't buy them there and then, but go into the station to buy them that day, then they could have all gone by the time you get there, and the remaining ticket prices available could be a lot higher.

If you buy an advance purchase ticket you must stick to that specific train, you cannot use it on any other train, and if you do get too pissed or get stuck in traffic and miss it then you will more than likely be charged a full price ticket on the day again for the train you are traveling on.

Hope this helps and that you have a good trip. snafe

Basically that's the cheapest you are going to get them. I paid £42 return to Manc about 3 weeks ago. Getting there 12 ish. Going to watch the Manc game then into Bolton...which is about £4 and 20 mins on the train.

Get one set of groupsaver tickets, so you pay for 2 and get 2 free.

Get one set of groupsave3 tickets, so you pay for 2 and get 1 free.

Use first great western (or other train operator) website, n just add the groupsave in the railcard section.
