Genuinely scary films. Hmmm...?
There's the classic horror films like The Exorcist, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween etc, or you could take a gamble on some modern British efforts like The Descent or Creep both of which made me reach for a cushion to hide behind.

Evil dead the first one is proper scary until the last 5 minutes when the fx let it down.
If you don't mind films with subtitles REC is very good ( and on sky movies on demand at the mo)

The 2 part tv series salems lot (with david soul) made in about 1982 was the scariest film I have seen - it still puts the shits up me just thinking about the scene wheree the dead kid vampire tapping the bedroom window to be let in!!!

There is a new movie coming out called VHS that looks pretty scary in the previews, but I'm sure that like all recent films it'll turn out pap!
