" Ambassadors Newsletter "

Sat Sep 29, 2012 8:20 am

I have to say, hats off to the clubs marketing department as they are moving in the right direction with this newsletter, with up to date sections on Malkys thoughts, highlighting and encouraging the need for strong support in our home games and reminding supporters of the up and coming fixtures, even a nice touch with Cardiff weekend weather forecast. Dare I say it, but we are starting to look like professional outfit :ayatollah:

This weekend kicks off a double header of home games, starting with Blackpool in the 3pm Saturday game, before we host Birmingham City on Tuesday night. As we all know, home form and home support are both vital this season, so we're sure you'll all make yourself heard for both games. Let's make this a big few days. Come on 'City!!!
MALKY: HOME FORM IS KEY v BLACKPOOL

Malky Mackay has called the Blackpool match a big test this Saturday, but is confident in his side's home form.

"Blackpool are seen by most people as favourites for the division," he said on Friday morning. "They've got a group that have mostly been together for a fair period, with something like 40 professionals - something that I'd love to be able to call upon. They've got two years worth of parachute payments as well, which is in the region of £30 million. It will be a very tough game as Blackpool will be coming off the back of a defeat to Huddersfield, and looking to bounce back. I've no doubt in the threat that they pose, that's why they're everyone's favourites. They're a tough team that has attacking threats and can score from anywhere."

A CARDIFF CITY TRIBUTE TO JIMMY ANDREWS
On Saturday we'll begin proceedings by paying tribute to former manager Jimmy Andrews ahead of kick-off, while our CF11 match programme will also be running a nice piece from Joe Lovejoy.

Sadly, long term commitments prevent Jimmy's family from being here with us on the day, though the tribute is being made with their full approval. As such the club has offered an open invitation for Kim and the family to attend a match when best fits their schedule. We are sure you will join us all with a fitting ovation to Jimmy tomorrow.
GET THE LATEST CF11 ON iPAD TONIGHT

iPad owning Cardiff City fans have been enjoying reading the interactive and intuitive version of match programme CF11 since our Apple launch this season. And with the Blackpool edition available to download at around 6pm tonight, why not get yours to add to your Friday night or Saturday morning before the big match? Inside you'll catch exclusive interviews with David Marshall and Matt Connolly, along with host of excellent features and content. It's the perfect way to get set for the Blackpool game.

MEMORIAL GARDEN OPENS ON SATURDAY
Cardiff City Football Club is honoured to officially open our Garden of Remembrance at the Stadium on Saturday afternoon, a service to be conducted by Club Chaplain Revd Dr John Weaver.

Club representatives will attend the service, along with staff, fans and Supporters Club and Supporters Trust representatives.

The garden, situated near the Ninian Park gates, will rightly honour the memories of Cardiff City fans whose time has passed, marking a permanent place to collectively pay respects.
BLACKBURN AWAY MOVED FOR SKY TV

Please note that our away match at Blackburn Rovers, originally scheduled for Saturday, 8th December, has now been brought forward to Friday, 7th December (7.45pm). The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

CANTON STAGE AT 2pm: THE BOY ROYALS
Playing for us on the Canton Stage ahead of kick-off are the excellent The Boy Royals. The band bring their sound together with a love of iconic British bands, such as Manic Street Preachers, The Who and The Jam whilst blending it with the spikier side of indie rock. Their attitude and ability to write such anthemic songs has seen the band sharing stages up and down the UK with the likes of Hard-Fi, Lostprophets, Feeder and The View.
