STEVE KEAN ON VERGE OF BEING SACKED

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=93096 :ayatollah:

Steve Kean is on the brink of being sacked as manager of Blackburn Rovers.

Owners Venky's have been in talks about Kean's position for the past 48 hours, despite the club being in an automatic promotion place in the Championship.

Further talks are planned on Monday, with a final decision on Kean's fate expected in the next 24 hours.

He could yet be offered another role at the club but if he exits Ewood Park, assistant Eric Black is expected to be offered the job of caretaker boss.

Kean, who took charge at Blackburn in December 2010, has been under pressure throughout his tenure, with large sections of the support calling for his dismissal.

Having come through a series of difficult moments, the 44-year-old is understood to be hopeful that he can persuade the owners he is still the right man to take the club forward.

Blackburn refused to comment on the situation on Sunday.

Now being reported that talks will continue through until tomorrow, but its likely he won't be their manager anymore.

What about Malky? How long do you think he should be given?

Kean was given a target and failed to meet it.

Luke, What would you do with Kean, if you were the owner?

Malky has also been told nothing less than top 2 this season.

In that case, why wait until 7 games in to sack him? Why not when he failed to meet the target of keeping them up?

I'd have Sacked him last season, I just don't think he is a very good manager.

I believe that was the target given, 16 points from 7 games.

i dont think he is a very good manager at all. but feel sorry for him. the way he has been treated is nothing short of a disgrace!

Re: STEVE KEAN ON VERGE OF BEING SACKED

I did feel sorry for him until he disrespected us after we hammered them in the Carling Cup claiming he lost it on purpose and that a club like ours would never beat them if they were taking the competition seriously. I know he was speaking right after the defeat but that coupled with his drink driving habits and general attitude doesn't really make me like him to be honest.

Still, the behaviour of the Blackburn fans and the board has been unbelievable and above posts are right, Blackburn are a laughing stock purely on the way they present themselves to the outside world.

Because the club said it in public to everyone.

They said it at the start at the season so the fact he may get sacked is no surprise, they are doing what they said and reviewing his position.

the way they conduct themselves is nothing short of a disgrace to be fair.

Kean should get them promoted then quit.

I'd personally rather they sacked him. It could put a dent in their promotion hopes. Changes can take time to adapt too, go ahead and sack him I say.

So basically its down to the fact that the attendances are not bringing in enough money to pay the wages.

So forget how Keen is doing this season, the fact that supporters are not going while he is there is the driving reason. Makes you wonder if us Blue brigade should have asked for refunds.

That was my take on it also Ian :ayatollah:

The crowd would not have changed if Blackburn had got a point against Boro last friday.

There is a movement of fans up there who will not return until he is gone, regardless of the results. I mentioned on here before the season started that Blackburn are a basket case of a club at the moment. Results are just papering over the cracks up there at the moment.

This should ease Blackburn's money problems for a few weeks /month -
