Philosophically, I believe that if someone has murdered someone (i.e. intended to kill them or cause them GBH and they die as a result), then the appropriate punishment is that they then forfeit their life.

so if two guys get into a fight and one falls over and hits his head and dies..... the guy who hits him deserves the death penalty?
