I can't help thinking that in am ideal world Deadline Day would be BEFORE the football starts.

This is a totally different deadline day for us, the last couple we've been flapping and thinking surely Malky will swoop for his targets today??? Hope this year, all I am hoping for today is to polish off the Maynard deal and get a defender that happy to be a squad member.

Happy days

Does wine gums have to be sorted before midday for him to play over weekend ?

Or is it different because we play on Sunday?

I think you can still sort papers through to midday saturday. So we might be lucky. :ayatollah:

Let's have a great day lads! I love transfer deadline day, and whatever happens at the end, we MUST get behind Malky and the team :ayatollah:

Free agent Michael Owen on Twitter: "I had two big European teams show an interest yesterday but my priority still remains to play in the Prem. We will see how the day pans out."

Doubt he is coming to us lads despite Ankles' hints. :ayatollah:

Jay

Fri Aug 31, 2012 8:12 am

brighton showing interest in Jay I for one would rather Maynard

Re: Jay

Fri Aug 31, 2012 8:22 am

Both very good players. Jay in this league is a no brainer imo.

The Defender?

Fri Aug 31, 2012 8:24 am

Who could it be? gotta feeling he is premiership who could it be James Perch? :ayatollah:

Wolves after Kenwyne Jones according to Sky

Fri Aug 31, 2012 8:25 am

As well as Celtic.

In my opinion he would have been a great player to go after with Maynard and I think a Jones and Maynard front line would be up there with the strongest in this league easily. If Wolves somehow pull it off then that is great business for them.

Probably going to demand a few million though in terms of the fee and be on quite big wages so could be a risk also.

Is he a player you'd want here? :ayatollah:

Im sure he will end up at stoke, along with Charlie Adams according to talk shite !!

Re: Jay

I would much prefer Maynard.

Malky had the option to keep Jay before he left (but after consultation with other staff) he decided he did not want him. :ayatollah:

ipswich get the championship ball rolling with 2 signings in the first hour, if they keep this rate up they will have signed a whopping 28 players by the time the window shuts

Stephen Dobbie has left the Liberty and said his farewells, nobody sure where he is off to yet though. I only mention it because I've seen his name pop up on here in the past. Bristol City, Burnley and Middlesborough have been mentioned.
