We've started the league season with two clean sheets. I'd be calling for Malky's head if he changed the back four for Connolly if we had no injuries.

Not unless we have an injury in the back 4.
Would be very odd to change the back four after two clean sheets just for the sake of it.

Start on the bench, I doubt he will feature at all unless there is an injury.

Chuck him straight in, and play him as a single centre half in my opinion, get him onside with the fans from day 1!
