KIM Bo-kyung, Cardiff City’s newest signing, is being tipped by a South Korean team-mate to be a major hit in Championship football.

The £2m winger fired Korea’s winner in their 2-1 Olympic success against Switzerland and team-mate Ki Sung-yueng, who plays club football for Celtic, says: “Bo-kyung is one of our aces – I believe he will be a success for Cardiff.”

Kim signed a three-year contract with the Bluebirds only a few days before his Olympic match-winning moment for his country.

“He is a very good player and one of the aces of the squad,” said Ki. “I have a strong belief in him. He is smart enough and good enough to play well in English football.

“The only thing he needs to consider is the cultural differences. The circumstances are quite different here when you compare them to Korea.”

Korea after struggling to produce his best in recent internationals, but team coach Hong Myung-Bo insists his faith in the midfield player has never wavered, saying: “He is an important player for us and I trust him.”

Kim is City manager Malky Mackay’s fourth signing of the summer, following Jordon Mutch, Etien Velikonja and goalkeeper Joe Lewis, and there are three, maybe four, to come between now and the end of this transfer window at the end of August.

Mackay wants another defender to increase competition in the back four, while a winger and a forward are on his wanted list.

“We will have to be patient and wait for the right players to become available,” says Mackay, who may have to wait until other clubs, probably at Premier League level, strengthen their squads before he is able to move.

There is little doubt Mackay would also love to add Welshman Craig Bellamy to his squad for the new season, but that depends on talks between the player and Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers. With Bellamy playing for Great Britain in the Olympics and Liverpool on their pre-season tour in the USA there is unlikely to be any progress on Bellamy’s situation for the next week or so at least.

To be fair it saves me having to go on w.o.l which tends to cock up my phone so I for one appreciate it.

He's put the original link at the top so what's the problem?
