New iPad v macbook pro

i tried the new iPad. my son told me it was just not all that if you wanted to
do certain things. he was right. it did my head in

Got an iMac and new iPad, both awesome!

Got a Hewlett Packard 6375e. Brilliant machine!

I've got the new iPad. Im always travelling so the portability of it is perfect.

I mainly use it to read, news, communicate, browse and play a couple of games now and then.

Perfect for me. So much better than lugging a laptop around.

Ive got an iPad and a top of the range Sony Vaio which is still probably less than a MacBook Pro.

First question, do you need a new laptop? If so, go for the MacBook Pro as the iPad, even though it's a quality piece of kit, it doesn't completely replace a computer.

If you are after portability, why not look at the MacBook Air?

The iPad and MBP are two completely different devices that should not be compared.

Why on Earth anyone would compare a tablet to a powerful laptop is beyond me.

If you're after media - films, books, reading, music, etc. browsing get an iPad.

If you want to do work on it then get a macbook pro.

The macbook air is a complete rip off for what is offers and you would be better off paying the extra for a macbook pro.
