There is nothing to say that "we got all this money". Last season we were supposed to have a 20 million war chest. It turned out that after departures and arrivals the transfer dealings were very close. There were no signings in the January window. This season to date the club have reportedly spent 3 million on two players plus Lewis on a free.

There is time to go before the start of the season for City to show their ambition of achieving 'a top 2 finish'. If come the start of the season we are in a similar position then clearly the ambition has to be questioned. With the so called 100m investment no figures for transfers have been disclosed. We do seem to have issues in closing down deals and money has to be a factor.

oh for fucks sake.

Signing a key player from a championship promotion rival, bringing in a highly rated Slovenian international striker and telling Fulham to go and stick their multi million pound offer for Whittingham. Kim Bo and Bellamy on the way plus more

Yes, all that lacks ambition.

Jesus wept. This board sometimes......

Wake up son, would you rather fight off competition from borrusia dortmund and celtic to sign kim bo kyung an international player talked about being the next ji sung park, or would you rather lose out to derby county to sign an average championship player who could be on the bench for us

Get real if Dortmund were as interested in Kimbo as we were he would have gone there.

Look at my response to your "Get a grip" pile of bollox and tell me that isn't true. You are suggesting in almost all your posts that we lack ambition and can't sign players and then tried the same patronising tone you are trying with me on Taffyapple when you said how good our signings have been.

Make your mind up will you.

Nearly a month to go yet.

If MM is looking at prem players then most won't happen for a while. Any decent prem club will want to strengthen before letting players go.

You could say the same for us not signing Keogh but that apparently is the end of the world!

Course hes going to say that if no-one from the top comes in for him Dumbo. If you believe we fought off the champions of Germany then you are seriously deluded.

New training facilities, adding to the amount of fans we can get through the turnstiles, plus bringing in new player's, wish we lacked this ambition before

That wasn't the point. The Kim scenario between us and dortmund is the same as us and Derby over Keogh. If we really wanted him we would have offered him more money, the captaincy etc. We've offered Kim more because we really want him.

Re: Lacking ambition

Howey its nothing like it. Dortmund didnt want Kim.

Both us and Derby made offers for Keogh and both wanted him.

If I fancy the look of a car. I'll have a good old look at it. the engine, the bodywork, the
service history etc. If I still want it. I'll make an offer, I'll offer what I think its worth...

Then walk away if the offer isnt accepted.

Only a complete f*cking dipstick would pay more than they thought it was worth!!!!

So thats car number one, the Ford Escort (Keogh) done and dusted.

But not quite finished yet... I go out and go through exactly the same process with
car number two, a BMW (Kim Bo)... i offer a lot more, cos its worth more. The offer
is accepted... I buy the car.

Thats three cars bought now, all costing more than the Ford Escort. So im not skint
am i?

Who know, next time I walk into the showroom, the dealer might decide to try and tie
up a deal sharpish, and not f**k me about. Cos i dont play games!!

Stop talking shit Dortmund were never a serious interest.

If Dortmund wanted him they would have got him.

Same cant be said of us and Keough

The club have a ceiling on what they value players at and if that value is exceeded they walk away. I would much prefer that approach than the 'pay through the roof' policy we had under Sam Hammam which meant we paid well over the odds for players like Gavin Gordon, Spencer Prior and David Hughes.

The irony is years later the same people claiming lack of ambition now, will be also screaming about miss-spending resulting in huge loan note debts.

We could of got him for what Derby paid if the payment terms were structured differently
